Pixma MP 210 printer head

Pixma MP 210 printer head alignment. I have followed the manual to the letter and I can print out the alignment value and head alignment for the printer but it seems that the part of the program that allows the actual adjustment of the values A-L +5 to -5 is missing. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled from the Canon disk with no change. The prints are blurred and illegible in B&W. I have done this before with a Pixma MP160 and know the routine. Am I missing something? Can you help? Steve Hunter
