COD 4 with ATI 3850

When I start up multiplayer I get "iw3mp.exe stopped working" I have Vista with AMD 64 x2 5000 and the game worked fine until I put the video card in. I tried disabling the HD sound that is built into the card.

I think you need to re-install a driver in for vedio card since you put a new one.

I just got cod waw game but computer doesnt support vertex data am i wasting my time. I have acer L3600

Hello there,
COD WAW has a minimum system requirements of the following:
CPU: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
RAM: 512MB (XP) / 1GB (VISTA)
HDD: 8 Gigabyte
GPU: 256MB Nvidia 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT
One main reason why you cannot play the game, is that Intel GMA 3100 is not capable of rendering the vertex shaders that has to do with lighting.
  • In order to play the game, you need to buy at least greater than the PCIE video card mentioned. It's that simple.
  • For example buy an ATI HD 4670 512MB or Nvidia 9500GT 512MB consider the memory.
  • Click the link for PCIE Video card installation procedure. Installation

Hopefully you will enjoy COD WAW third person shooter game.
Hopefully this information helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Can windows 7 run GTA IV.

Running GTA 4 on windows 7 should not be a problem. You just have to run the installer using compatibility mode. Right click on the "setup.exe" then choose Properties. Go to Compatibility tab and tick "run this program in compatibility mode for", choose windows xp sp 3. That should allow you to install GTA 4 on windows 7. Bear in mind that you have to install GfW Live and the C++ 2005 files seperately which can be found in the disk as well. More importantly, make sure that your computer meets the system requirements for the game.
Here it is: System Requirements
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista) 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870
After installing the game and you're not able to run it, Try running the main executable file of the game in compatibility mode as well.

Hope this helps.

This is a CoD problem, right? To fix, uninstall the sound devices using device manager then reboot and let the computer detect and reinstall the appropriate drivers. Good luck!

COD 2 multiplayer problem

That happens if you have a realtek audio card. Just go to your Realtek control panel, enable Mic Boost and change the settings on the sound jack for quality and it might go past the error.

I know it sound stupid but looks like its generic.

Also, try checking for newer patches

Cannot connect to cod 2 master server.

Are you running Vista 64? because COD2 doesn't work on multiplayer! Single player runs a treat, but multiplayer.........NOT INTERESTED!! :*(

I've tried it hundreds of times, i've searched forums, and even emailed the manufacturer, all replies have been this game is not compatible with Vista 64 :(

Sorry for the bad news if you're on 64 like me :(

Call of duty 4 multiplayer

A common fix seems to be to have either a USB headset with a mic plugged in, or something plugged into the analog mic jack. It seems they want to force you to use a mic.

COD4 Multiplayer makes computer fans loud and hot.

When you play online games it will usually require more system resources to power. Your processor also handles the data that is being sent and received during your online session. Some code for online games have more overhead than others. I do not believe that it has anything to do with your machine, but more the software and network overhead that the multiplayer game requires. If you notice that both single and multiplayer run on seperate executables...

Single Player = C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3sp.exe
Multiplayer = C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe

Hope this helped!

Online play/ multiplayer

Try reinstalling the game and then make sure both the game and windows are patched and fully up to date.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling your video card drivers (or upgrading them).
