I have a Hiti P510s printer it has been in the storage container for a few months. It was working fine when I last used it but now it won't print anything.

when in storage unless temperature controled the heat gets too hot for the toner/ink, will ruin the toner/ink and the film cartridge

Printer was inactive now won't print

The ink might be dryed up in the cartridge, might need a new one.

Printer acts like it is printing and there is ink in the printer but pages are coming out blank

The ink-jets that SHOULD be spraying the ink onto the paper are clogged.

Run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog the ink-jets.

5740 acts like it's printing, but no ink on paper

Since it's trying to print, the printer probably just needs cartridges. The ink can dry in the nozzles with age and disuse and clog them.

Before you splurge on new cartridges, try getting them going. (This assumes there is some ink left in them.) Take the cartridges out of the printer, wet a layer of paper towels about 1/8 inch thick, and whack the nozzles against the wet surface a few times. Check every few whacks to see if you're getting any ink flow. Repeat until you see some ink on the towels and on the nozzles, or until you decide it's futile. Often this dislodges the clogged ink and opens the nozzles, and buys some extra printing time. But you're probably going to want new ones soon anyway.

Paper feeds crooked into the printer

Check the adjustments for the paper your using. Open the printer and look on the rollers you'll probably find paper or an obstruction clear it and also clean then rubber moving parts with isopropyl alcohol to give them their grip back.

Cartridges Problem for Lexmark X1270

Glad you included the comment that it has sat for 6 months.
1 of 2 things.
The cartridges them self may have dried out. Ink jet print cartridges do have an expiration date, and without use they can just stop working.
The second thing, and pretty much related to not being used, is the area under the cartridges can get very gooey when the sit for a while.
You can clean that out, if you carefully do this. UNPLUG the machine ,, remove the cartridges,, place some paper towels under the print head. Below the where the cartridges go, and trickle some alcohol in that area to disolve the dried out ink.
So, either replacing the cartridges or cleaning out the dried ink under them should fix it up for you.

Wants to print but won't put ink on paper

I'm experiencing the same problem. I tried to troubleshoot through software that came with printer, but no luck. Here's what happens:

The printer worked great for a month or so. Then, I didn't use it for a few months. When I tried to use it again, it acts like it's printing. My computer shows it's printing, the printer runs through all the steps, including moving the print cartridges back and forth over the paper as it should, but no ink comes out on paper.

Any suggestions?
