Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I want to set up a Fishman BP 100 Acoustic Bass pick up to a Thomann Kontrabass and the ins. manual says that the area where the elements are to be placed on the bridge (I think facing the fingerboard?) is to be flat. The bridge is bevelled at this point, so how can I affix?Joe from Ath Cliath.

The manual:http://www.fishman.com/uploads/products/documents/2.pdf recommends that you flatten the area of the bridge where the elements will be mounted with a sanding block or a file of a 120 to 150 grit. It also says that if the bridge is bevelled at the top edge, the elements must be mounted below the bevel. You can mount them as much as 1/2" below although the recommended distance is 1/4". I'd also check here for advice:http://www.fishman.com/support/

Fishman Loudbox amplifier rattle sound on bass notes

Either the speakers have loosened from the faceplate, or one or more have blown. Open the amp and tighten them down. If that doesn't fix it, remove them a take them to the nearest speaker repair shop for a checkup. If blown either have them re-coned or replace them.

How to operate an acoustic fender electric guitar Fishman tuner

If it's the same as mine, the tuner has a little clothespin clip. You clip that on to your guitar's headstock and turn it around till you can see the screen while picking strings. The tuner picks up vibrations through the headstock and with it's microphone and it tells you what it hears. The little needle tells you the note and if the string you're plucking is below that note, above that note or right on. You have to figure out if you're in the right octave on your own.

What's your problem?I have two Fishman amps. The older Loudbox 100 single channel and a Loudbox mini. I am trying to find the service manual for the older fishman as I have a fault with it and the

Fishman iis you best bet http://www.fishman.com

You can download the user manuals, they do have a block diagram, but the scan is pretty bad.

It may end up the person looking at it is going to need to rely upon their general knowledge.

My own suggestion is to pull the chassis out so you can work on it while powering it. And then work your way through the amp with either a signal source plugged in at the input, and with high impedance headphones with test lead ends, go through each audio stage carefully. until the fault is isolated. If it is not caps or the rectifiers in the power supply, faulty ground connections to chassis or faceplate, a faulty 4558 is most probable. The headphone approach is the fastest way to address this last one. If a different series of preamp chip is used, a good source for the IC datasheets in general is Digikey http://www.digikey.com and parts too.

After installation, the treble strings are much louder than the bass strings

Try adjusting with the EQ settings on the amp... boost the bass and trim the highs.

Fishman Prefix Plus preamp on my acoustic guitar picks up the unwound strings well but the wound strings are barely audible

You could try boosting the bass and reducing the highs on the EQ setting, however there MAY be a probllem with the pickup, not the preamp.

When I plug it into my amp there is a staticy

yes there probably is a dry jopint on the wiring or the jack input isnt tight enough also the battery connector could have a dry solder or looose connection I would go for it if the price is low and just spend a few bob to solder it or check the connections.Good Luck
