My hp pavilion flashes dim and bright no matter what your doing, what can cuase it?

You could have a faulty ballast unit or even faulty flourescent lamps in the display. The first cause is the cheaper option.
Or even just a poor contact on the motherboad connector feeding the screen.

My screen is totally black even though the computer is on.

Ok. You have two solution: 1- Change the motherboard for a new one because the video chip is out or 2- buy a new laptop. The first one you can do it if you still have a garanty or buy the motherboad on the branch web page. Also try in a laptop repair shop in your area.

HP G6000 not powering up. It's not the AC/DC adapter since I replaced that with a new one.

The power plug on the motherboad may need to be replaced. this is a common problem with hp laptops.
