Question about PNY Verto GeForce 6800GT, (256 MB) PCI Express Graphic Card

I'm having a problem with my new graphics card

I bought a GeForce 8500 GT for my pc that's running vista. My husband and I play World of Warcraft and now after installing the new graphics card, while playing, all of a sudden our screen will go fuzzy and freeze and the monitor will go to sleep. The only way to fix it is if we turn off the pc and restart. Can you help me figure out why it is doing this? For some reason it wouldn't find my make and model of the graphics card at the bottom. So I just put something so I can try to get some help. The graphics card is a Verto GeForce 8500GT 512MB. Thank you for helping.

Re: I'm having a problem with my new graphics card

-Make sure that the video card is properly seated. and you have installed all the latest drivers and patches of this card from?
try to play games now and if the problem still exist then do:

-At this stage I would recommend just to blame the card's software (drivers) uninstall all drivers and software partinent to this video card. Restart the machine and play the game for a while, see if your monitor crashes. If still does crashes then its the OS.

-Simply uninstall the graphics card from the PC and check if the perfomance of games effect your video. If it still does effect then there is a problem with OS.

Finally I would suggest to simply install the card install the latest patches and drivers from the website of the manufacturer and restart your machine if it works then we can blame faulty driver and software.
-Also please check the manufacturers website of any known issues with this particular card with Vista.

Hope that helped!

If the pc works the same when you boot in Safe Mode then the video card has failed - buy a new one.
If the pc works in Safe Mode then the video driver is corrupted - uninstall it then reboot normally then go here and download the latest available driver.

if thats wat the specs say then thats most probably the max youve just bought one thats to powerfull, and y did you need so much power the most powerfull graphics card in the world needs a 750watt power surpply, your computer is probably not designed to have major upgrades, and by looking at the specs i can see that your computer well putting it simply is **** for upgrading the specs are **** (no offense intended) i suggest upgrading to a whole new computer if you want that sought of power and graphics

My nvidia 8500 GT only lets me run Vista in 4 colour bit mode, cant set i higher than 800 x 600 , also , Vista reports a problem with Rundll32 when i start up. any suggestions ?

Have you entered set up to see that under video or graphics you have PCIe chosen? Also, it might be a good idea to go to nVidia's site and download the latest drivers for your card. Once you have them downloaded, go to device manager and uninstall your current ones, reboot, and install the new ones. The new ones often won't install if the old ones are still in force.

Will the Sparkle 8500 gt *PCI* work with XP?

Sure, it should have an option to use DX9, make sure it's updated though. Also google the specs of your card and see if that helps.

Video Card PNY VERTO GEFORCE 8400 GS stop working

the world of war craft is played online through servers, not just on your computer. the version is needed to see if there are issues with your video card, Do you have XP home or XP pro?
you have more than 1 mb of ram
at this point I am going to say that you have issues with the video card take it back and get an ATI to replace it, they are better and have less issues.
you could also be having an overheat problem with the CPU and that means you need a new heat sink and fan assembly to keep the CPU cooler when you are running this game.
That is about all the help I can give you , my advice is to take the computer to a service center and have them look at the CPU heat sink and fan assembly to see if it is working properly.
hope this helps
