The agitator became very noisey (clicking sound) and then stopped

I have a Admiral Model # AAV7000AWW

While running, the agitator became noisey with a sort of clicking sound which became louder with the spin cycle. During the rinse spin cycle I heard a loud click or bang and then the washer stopped working completely.

Sounds like the washer transmission has failed.

Admiral washer aav7000aww-agitator only spins one direction-doesn't agitate-it stirs the laundry.

Remove the agitator, and turn the transmission pulley, one way, the spin basket will spin, the other way, the transmission spindle should go back and forth. If not, you have a bad transmission.
Here is the transmission to order if you should find it bad.

Admiral washer will not agitate or empty it is a aav7000aww,what part do i need

What you need is a motor coupling, either take of front panel if it's on this model or take the whole cabnet off. To do this, take two screws off either side of the back near the timer. Then lift timer console upwards, you'll see two metal clips, get a flat head screw driver pop both and unplug lid switch. Remove cabnet, and the motor coupling is right behind the motor.... It will cost about 29.95 plus tax for the motor coupling give or take

Won't agitate

Ours did this and it was because the bearings had busted. I called a local repair guy and he told me over the phone just by listening to the sound. Maybe you could do the same. I do know this, if it is your bearings, buy a new washer. It's not worth the repair...trust me.
