Your cable tv problem is not related to your computer issue.
Start your pc and enter the bios (usually by pressing F2 or Del) and navigate to the boot options. put the bootup options in a similar order to this, Floppy, CDROM, Primary harddisk. then disable network boot or add network boot to the end of the list.

No bootable device PXE-M0F

You need to disable booting from the device in the Bios. It will be under the Boot options menu. Uncheck it from the list of devices to boot from.

Help!! I have an Acer Aspire Laptop. It wont boot up!!

Hello, "Suzy Irwin".
You wrote that this is the error message:
"Check cable connection! PXE-MOF : Exiting Intel PXE ROM No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key".
Is that correct?
IF so, 1st, Good Job!
Most people miss the mess., then we don't have the info we need.
OK, "PXE ROM" indicates that the POST can't find the hard drive.
"No bootable device" usually indicates the connection to the hard drive, or the drive itself, has failed.
When it says; "Check cable connection",
that's another indication of the same problem.
So, do you feel comfortable taking your "Acer Aspire" apart?
IF its in warranty, or if you don't think you can take it apart,
AND put it back together again,
then you will need to take it to a shop or store that does repairs,
or buy another computer.
But IF you feel up to it, check the company's website,
and google the instructions for disassembly/reassembly for your particular model.
Your description of the problem didn't include the model info, or any additional info to further ID your particular Aspire.
They are NOT all alike.
Hopefully helpful,
sl0j0n.

My daughter's ACER inspire one gives the following message and makes a beeping sound "Check Cable connection! PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE Rom No bootable device---insert boot disk and press any key

There is a loose connection between the hard drive and motherboard of the computer, that's why you are getting that message. You most likely need to take it to a computer repair shop so they can fix it.

If the sound you are referring to is a clicking sound, then it is a hard drive failure.
Your computer is trying to boot up the operating system from the hard drive, but when it fails to access the hard drive, it tries to boot up from other devices configured on the BIOS. Apparently, your next choice for booting the operating system is set to the LAN card. Hence, you get the message "PXE-E61 Media test failure", which means that the computer tried to boot up the operating system over the network but it found out that your network cable is not connected to your computer's network interface card.

I am uneable to start my computer i gote a message say check cable connection pxe-m0f:exiting intel pxe rom no bootable device

Its not detecting your hard drive and is trying to start from the network.
Try resetting BIOS.
If that doesn't help, check whether your hard drive is good.

I have a nc6000 and the the message PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM. comes up I can not boot my computer it states a disk read error occured can you help me. I have...

The PXE-E61 is the error code for No Network Bootable Device Found. Which means the computer cannot find your hard drive and is looking for a network drive to boot from. Either your internal hard drive has failed, or it is not seated or operating properly. Troubleshoot the hard drive, either it is dead or there is an interface problem between the drive and the motherboard or BIOS setting.
