No I don't think so. You will need either a restore disc that probably came with your Laptop or there might even be a restore partition, you may want to call up Dell tech support and ask them how to do it.

Unless of coarse you have your hands on an XP install CD, if you do I would recommend you download all the drivers you need, video, chipset, audio, network, etc.. all that stuff before you do that, unless you have another PC to copy from.

If you have a windows disk it will let you format before you install xp or vista again.

Disable dell startup splash screen to see RAID console

most likely, RAID is disabled. Restart the computer, tap F2 as soon as the computer starts until it takes you to the BIOS screen. Look on the Drives section and verify if your SATA or SATA OPERATIONS are set to RAID ON. Save the changes.

Afterwards, restart the computer and see if it works. Note, when it displays the Dell Splash screen, you may try to hit CTRL + i or CTRL + N to enter the RAID BIOS.

If none works, you can also visit http://support.dell.com and go to the Drivers and Downloads page. Enter your Service Tag or select your system model. Then check for an available update that you can download and install for the BIOS and Chipset of your computer.

Dell cannot hit ctrl-alt-del

Sure it can! As long as it's running Windows.
The keys are different on a laptop so you may be hitting the wrong keys. You are not hitting the Fn key. Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Del buttons all at the same time and it should work.
If it is not working, there is no good reason why.
Thanks for using FixYa.

I am trying to restore my computer to original state. Was told to use Ctrl F11. This doesn't to anthing. Help

don't hit ctrl f11 instead hit F8 and then go into Dell Factory Image Restore, that will wipe, format and reinstall all the factory software that's stored on the Recovery Drive.

or reformat your laptop using your cd

Shortcuts pop up while typing

Sounds like the CTRL key has a short and is pressing itself without your knowledge. Try replacing the keyboard.

Dell Latitude D620 Full System Recovery?

It's easy to miss the point at which you hit Ctrl + F11. You need to hit Ctrl + F11 at the point you see the blue bar across the top of the screen, it will display www.dell.com. If this is still not working you can use the XP operating system CD to reinstall XP and the Dell drivers CD to reinstall the sound, video, network and other drivers. If Dell didn't send you the operating system CD, you should contact them.

Factory Restore

Hi,

Have you tried using another keyboard? if that doesnt work, try hitting the pause/break button on your keyboard and you should notice that your screen will be stuck on the dell logo with the bar going across, once you notice that hold down ctrl and hit f11. that should work..

Let me know what happens, alright?

I want to format scsi drives and configure raid0

You can either do this in the BIOS or (easier) just run a Linux installer (such as Ubuntu) and it will offer to do it for you when it sees Windows-formatted partitions.
