Question about Maytag Neptune MLG2000A Front Load Stacked Washer/Dryer
I cant wash a load of clothes without the washer shutting off several times during the wash cycle. it is to the point now that i have to press and hold the start button during the wash. This is a problem that has been fixed by repair people in the past and was a relatively cheap fix...about $100.00. Can i fix it myself???
Doesn't your unit have a lock light in addition to an on light? On mine when you start the machine a red light comes on, then after a minute or two the lock light above it comes on. Once the lock light lights, the machine shouldn't stop. If only the initial light comes on, the door isn't locking. As a result, as the drum moves the clothes and they push against the unlocked door, it turns the machine off. You might need to check/tighten the door latch. Also check the door wax motor/door lock assembly.
