How do I get it out of the window? I believe this air conditioner is in a case of sorts and the inside comes out, then the case is removed but I have lost the instructions. Thank you.

To remove the air conditioner from its' case. This is typically done by removing the front grille and then removing a couple of screws that hold the unit in the case. Then, the unit can be slid out of the case.

My DeLonghi PAC A110L portable air conditioner is leaking water. How do I fix this?

Hallo

If an Air Conditioner is on cooling then the Air Conditioner also removes humidity from the air any Split Unit, Window Wall A/C you name it... Any A/C on cooling dehumidify the air in the room.

To decrease the volume of the water:
1) Clean Air filter/s
2) Keep doors and windows close( can open now and again).

I don't know how that portable A/C of your look like but I believe theirs a water pan inside that needs cleaning I think it's full.( best is to service the hole A/C).

Hope this was useful.

Regards

Can i take my frigidaire ac out of the case without removing it from the window?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know whether you can take your Frigidaire air conditioning, model# FRA256ST2, out of the case, without removing the case from the window. Yes you are. Below are step by step instructions for removing your air conditioning from the case.

    1)Unplug your air conditioner.
    2)Take the front grill off.
    3)Remove the filter.
4)There are four panel screws, two on each side of where the front grill and filter were. Remove these screws.
5)Gently pull out your air conditioner.

For replacing your air conditioner, follow the steps in reverse. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer light status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

    -Best regards-

PAC CT-90 Air conditioner My CT90 is leaking

When you air condition, you essentially remove heat from the "inside air" and transfer it to the "outside air". from a google search this thing is sort of like a window air conditioner, but the hot air is sent outside via a vent hose, so the unit can be located away from the window. Any time you cool air, it holds less water, so depending on the humidity, there will be condensate formed, the question is, how is it dealt with. In window air conditioners, you see it dripping from the back side when it is running. For your unit, is it unclear how the condensate is being removed; maybe hot air going outside is directed across where the condensate collects and it is assumed it will evaporate and be vented outside as vapor? First, check and see if the unit is still under warrantee, if so, contact them and see how to get it fixed (if you mess with it, it might void the warrantee). If it has expired or the company is out of business, etc, you can try opening it up and see what is going on. The water collects under the evaporator (the fins where cold air comes out). Underneath there should be some kind of tray or something that collects the condensate and directs it somewhere in the unit for it to be gotten rid of. I'm thinking something is cracked, leaking or come loose, letting the water escape and run out. If that is the case, you might be able to use silicone seal or something like it to seal the leak. Hopefully, it is something simple like that.

We have a smell of ***** coming from our window a/c unit. we cleaned out the fan chamber of some mold last week. but i could not clean the fan cage. what could be causing this smell?

There is a weep hole underneith the casing of the unit that has a rubber plug inside it. You press the rubber plug with your finger and hold it in and the water will drain around your finger. If you are outside facing the unit the weep hole is usually on the right side and about four to five inches from the front.

The smell you are talking about is probably coming from the standing water that has come out of the air conditioner and is sitting inside the casing. After you drain as much water out of that casing as possible, go to your local hardware store and purchase a can of air conditioner cleaner. They sell aerosole cans of foaming cleaner that disolves with the condensation of the unit. It deodorized and cleans the dirt and grease on the coils too. Buy a fin comb or appliance comb and use it to remove the hair, lint and debris that collects behind the filter in the vents. That is what the fin comb or appliance comb is for. That should solve your problem.

Horrible, gym socks kinda smell coming out. how can i fix this?

Try cleaning the filter and you can buy some coil cleaner for the inside coil that doesn't have to be rinsed off. It is supposed to clean and deodorize. Might as well clean the outside coil while you are at it. You can also remove the unit from the window and take the case off to clean inside.

We have a window unit model ash08fas1 and it is leaking water into the window to our carpet. Does this model come with a drip pan or plug that needs to be moved? And how do we access it?

Look at your unit from outside the house. The back of the air conditioner should be slightly lower than the front. If it is level or the front of the air conditioner is lower it will drip into the house. Some window units have a drain for the water outside and some don't. Look for a hole in the bottom of the unit outside and if you find one make sure it is not plugged. Also dirty coils can cause a frost buildup on the inside of the unit. This will drip also. If this is the case you should see the ice buildup by removing the front cover or removing the front filter.

Fix It was a waste of time!!!

After recieving four emails from Fix it, purporting to have collected solutions offered by "experts" -- each turning out to be solicitations for paid services and memberships but offering no solutions to our problem -- we decided to tell everyone we know that Fix It is not worth trying.

Fix It is either an outright fraud or should police the profiles and accounts on their site.

Water leak

If you remove the air grill for the inside part you will find four screws which when tightened compress the seal gasket under the outside to roof. It may be a case of these screws being somewhat loose.
