Some time ogo I configured a PC with the ASUS P5VD2-MX SE Motherboard with 2GB RAM (2 x 1GB Kingston 533MHz DDR2 DIMMS). Today I changed the RAM and installed 4GB with 2 x 2GB Kingston 533MHz DDR2 DIMMS. The BIOS recognizes only 2500MB RAM. I tried each DIMM individually, and they're OK. I also installed the latest BIOS update for this Motherboard (versión 0701), but the problem remains.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
Best regards,
Actually you are doing better than you think, According to your MB specs it is only supposed to hold a max of 2GB (1GB per slot). The updated BIOS may be allowing for the additional 500MB.
If you would like to verify, here is a link to the manual for your MB:

Dear sirs I had a hardware defect that can be defined as a component severely damaged by little fire and smoke and I would like to replace it by it´s substitute. It is a three pin device marked MW5564. I would like to know what component it is and it´s characteristics as it seems to be very easily replaceable. It is located close to the last pin of the memory slots. As I can´t boot it for the moment it seems to be the major problem. Thank you for your attention.
