If the motor is running and the belt is not moving, take a small flashlight and look directly at the spot where the belt loops around the drive pulley. Turn the drum about one inch by hand and feel the belt inside at the same time. Sometimes with a heavy load and an older belt, they just sit there and wear out.

My estate gas dryer isn't working, i hear timer, but motor not turning

Door switch, broken belt maybe. The way it works if the fuse on back is ok and their are no obstructions which might cause a fire, the motor must be turning in order for the centrifugal switch inside it to allow power to the gas assembly. If that same fuse was blown however no power would get to the gas assembly but the dryer will still run. Based on that I would say you have a bad door switch. if not that then it is down to a bad motor or a bad timer. In the case of the timer it is a strong possibility the knob could be broken or the stem inside the timer itself is not advancing the cam and therefore the machine will not start. I saw that one just last week. Them timers are crappy on them machines.

Washer spins but will not agitate

1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped

2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-

If the washer starts spinning, then we know the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.

If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt.
Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.

3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.

4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem.

I have DBSR4EB3WW model number. Last night I was drying clothes, tryed to turn dryer back on , turned the button to right to start clothes and all it would do is make a humming noise. ...

Hello Deborah, it could be a number of things, First the belt, usually if you hear a humming and the drum isn't turning, Its a broken or slipped belt, the hum you hear is the motor turning, But with no belt the drum can't turn other things that can go wrong and cause this are the safety switch located by the dryer door has failed, or a thermostat located in the rear of the machine is bad or stuck if you feel you can check these things , thats cool, just let me know you want to give it a try ,

Agitator won't spin and water won't drain during spin cycle

Hi
Try these things first.
4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem. Go here. If the motor isn't spinning, then go here for washer motor troubleshooting.
If none of these tips resolve the problem, then there's probably a more serious problem with either the motor, the transmission or the agitator itself. If this is is the case, call in a pro.
Thanks for using Fixya.

The belt is likely needs replacing. Before taking it apart turn the dryer on and listen for the sound of the motor running. If it is the belt is broken. If not it could be several things ie; motor, timer, shorted or open wire. Here is a link for the belt Dryer belt replacement The belt is inexpensive and easy to replace. Bosch wta 2000 dryer, heats but drum not turning

If you can hear the motor running then the belt has came off or it is broken. If you cant hear the motor then you possibly have a bad motor.

Stackable washer/dryer

hi..
When your dryer drum isn’t turning anymore, it’s usually a broken belt. Tearing the dryer apart is usually straight-forward enough but stringing the new belt on the motor and idler pulley can be tricky. The Complete Encyclopedia of Dryer Belt Configurations shows the belt configurations for almost every dryer brand you can think of.

this will fix ur problem..
thank u rate me
