CAN'T GET BULB ACCESS DOOR OFF TO REPLACE UNDERNEATH BULBS
I Have a GE Spacesaver Microwave oven. One of the light bulbs under the miocrowave (shines under the microwave) has gone out. There is one (1) screw on an access door, which I have taken off. The other side of the door says "Push", with arrows pointing towards the side of the microwave. I can not get the access door to move AT ALL! Is there a trick to taking off this pannel to get to these bulbs?

Re: CAN'T GET BULB ACCESS DOOR OFF TO REPLACE UNDERNEATH...
first you need to remove the screws from the back of the microwave that hold on the casing and there might be some on the bottom too. then remove the outer casing
the bulb is under the casing towards the front right corner as you are looking at the front of the microwave
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Behind the top grill above the door is an access panel to change the light bulb. If the bulb is good but light still don't work, its possible the door switch is bad, but normally if the switch is bad the turn table won't work either. Most likely just a bad bulb part number you would seek is WB36X10003 this is not cheap for a bulb, you maybe able to get a replacement from a local lighting center near you. its a 40 watt, 130V bulb
My Spacesaver bulb replaces from the top. You have to remove 2 screws that hold the upper vent cover. W/ cover off you will find a phillips head screw about the center that holds the bulb cover. Remove the cover screw & lift up & remove the cover, then replace the bulb, the cover & screw then put the vent cover & it's 2 screws back. There may be some variance but they are all similar.
Hello, PLEASE UNPLUG YOUR MICROWAVE! Remove the two screws that holds grill. They are located at the edge of the unit. Once the screws are out, rotate the grill forward from the top. It will pop right out.
Once the screws are out, rotate the grill forward from the top. The grill should pop right out. Locate a small access cavity on the left. Remove the screw that is located near the front of the microwave door. Lift up the sheet metal floor to access the bulb. The bulb is located under the sheet metal "floor" on the left. Place a flash light on the microwave floor and shine the light in the light area. This will help you see better when you replace your bulb. Look for a small shiny reflector that hides the bulb. Use your two fingers to squeeze it a bit. Making sure not to bend it. The bulb connection should come right out. After you replaced the bulb, re secure the reflector and the sheet metal floor with the single screw. Test the bulb by plugging in your microwave. Once you see that the bulb works. Unplug your microwave again and re attach the front grill. You are now done. Hope this help in solving the problem, take care.....
