Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller
I have two wired xbox 360 controllers that worked fine, until one day. Now the ring in the middle of the controller is always flashing like it is syncing (while it's connected and usable) even though the first-player light is lit up on the 360 like it should be. Usually they'll work fine for about 10-15 mins and then disconnect, usually at the worst times. Typically, if I play for an hour, the controller will disconnect 3-5 times within the hour, which isn't too bad, but obviously shouldn't be happening. I've had my friends bring over their controllers and the same thing happens, so I'm starting to think that my 360 has faulty USB ports. =\ I haven't even had mine for a year yet either.
It sounds like it needs replaceing. Sometimes Radio shack has the wireless Xbox360 controllers on sale for 40$ and Gamestop sells used ones for around the same price. Also wireless is much better.
