Re: TV Cable Audio Problem

The A/V cable might be bad try a different cable, if the cable is good try change the audio input settings on the TV by going to the menu and on the audio options select the one that works the best for you.

I have an e470vl vizio hdtv. i was plugging another component into the wall when the whole outlet sparked (biggest i have ever seen/felt). the tv and dvd player were connected to a power strip to that...

first of all just switch off everything then switch off the mains, open the mains socket as there might have been a loose connection to the terminals which you`ve got to tighten. also confifrm that the earthing is well connected before you switch on .
swtch on the mains then switch on your devices one by one, also confirm that the VGA cable is well connected to the display unit

LCD TV connection to DVD-VCR

OK here is a possible solution: 1) The best solution: Connect the antenna to your DVD-VCR through the RF Input and the the RF Out to your TV This take care of the VCR part. Then you get an RCA three way cable (Video-yellow marked, Right Audio-Red marked, Left Audio-white marked)connect the yellow marked RCA cord to the Video out of your DVD player then connect the other end to your video in of your TV. Ater that connect the red marked audio cable to the R Audio out of your DVD player to the R Audio in of your TV do the same for the white marked Audio cable. You will now be able to switch from VCR-RF to DVD-RCA.

Trying to hook up dvd player to a philips 27ps55-s121. I cant get it to show up on the tv screen. I dont know what channel the tv needs to be on to show the dvd. and i am unsure where what plug (cable)...

Connect one end of the VIDEO
(yellow) CABLE to the AV1 in VIDEO
jack on the back of the TV. Then connect
one end the AUDIO (red and
white) CABLES to the AV1 in AUDIO
L and R(left and right) jacks on the rear

Press the CH + or – buttons on the
remote to scroll the channels until AV1
appears in the upper left corner of the
TV screen.
Slide the TV/VCR/ACC switch to

How do i attach a dvd player to my tv

First, get a set of composite Video/audio cable, it will have Yellow (Video), Red (Right channel audio), White (Left channel audio) with RCA plugs at both ends.
You can choose AV1 input at the back of the TV, all you have to do is to match the RCA jacks on the back of the TV to the color of the RCA plugs, same for the connection at the DVD player.
Set the TV to AV1 and watch you DVD.

I'm trying to get my dvd recorder and vcr hooked up to my new flat screen tv. How do I connect them and what channel do I put my tv on (flatscreens don't have channel 3 or 4) to recognize the dvd recorder...

DVD players do not connect using regular cable connections Your flat screen TV should have separate Audio and Video connections. These are the connections that you should use to connect your VCR and DVD player. If you have a combo unit, that is a single unit that has both DVD and VHS in one box, you might be able to get your VCR to work on the cable connection. However your DVD will not be able to work as the cable connection doesn't allow enough information to pass through. If you go to your local Audio Video store and tell them what you want to connect they should have the cables you need for less than $10.00. Good luck.

The Way Im understanding your problem is,
it seems like you need to hook your rcas directly to the tv and switch the surround to aux or something similar to that.

Which channel do i put the tv on, and which do i put the dvd player on in order for them to work together? I have a sanyo flat screen tv and a sony dolby digital dvd player, and i don't know how to get...

You do not put your TV on any channel. DVD players need to connect to a TV with video cables and not a RF cable. This means 3 connection options on how your DVD player should connect to your TV. First, since your DVD player is NOT a bluray player, then HDMI connection is not needed. 2nd, the best choice would be component cables. These are the RED/GREEN/BLUE RCA connector that are on the back of your DVD player. They got into the input of your TV that has the RED/GREEN/BLUE RCA connectors. These are your video connector. Now, you need to connect the audio. Look for the RED/WHITE analog audio connectors out of your DVD player. Connector those to your AUDIO RED/WHITE input of the TV. Power on the DVD player and then power on your TV. Press the SOURCE or INPUT button on the remote for the TV until you see the DVD on the TV....The second option is the connect your DVD player up to your TV with composite video, YELLOW/RED/WHITE cable...

Proscan tv surround sound hook up

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

NO sound and NO cable signals

Is your tv connected to your cable box through HDMI, AV, or component?

If its through HDMI then your cable carrier needs to load updated frimware in your box to communicate properly with your 2005 tv. The firmware loaded in your cable box needs to be "reverse compatible" for first generation HDMI from your 2005 tv. If your using AV or component hook-up and there's no sound then re-check all of your audio settings within the tv's menu. Also recheck the cable-wire your using and proper input/output ports.

ON your dvd player, is your tv connected through component, AV(rca) or HDMI?

If its through "component" then you need an extra audio cable to and from the DVD and tv.
