The carburetor jets are plugged. Complete disassembly & soaking in carburetor cleaner then re install parts after rinsing off & drying them. Make sure all ports are open. Torch tip cleaner is helpful.

Won't start without starting fluid

You might want to try using a carburetor cleaner additive, or a spray cleaner to clean the carb internally. Make sure your air filter is clean. You may also want to make sure fuel lines are not restricted.

Lawn mower won't start

Check spark plug grounded when pulling starter to see if you get fire First. Then , spray(if getting spark at plug) starting fluid in a air intake , if motor fires, you're not getting gas so clean gas tank and carb, then , it should run fine.

Cub Cadet has gas, has spark, has air -still won't start/run

Are you pulling the plug to check for wetness after cranking it a few times, WITHOUT using the starting fluid? Also, I would recommend using carb cleaner in place of the starting fluid. Starting fluid runs the engine VERY hot for a brief time and can possibly damage rings, valves, and aluminum parts.

Lawn Tractor won't start after wrong fuel used, drained, etc

Check the fuel shutoff solenoid (on the bottom of the carburetor -- has a wrie plugged onto it) -- it may be sticking.

Spray carburetor with carb cleaner. Then if you can get it to run long enough to do any good, put carb cleaner in the fuel -- follow mixing proportions on the label.

If this doesn't work, need to take carb apart and thoroughly clean it.

MTD TRACTOR FLIPPED UPSIDEDOWN; NOW IT DOESN'T START ???

Does the engine turn at all? If it does, the you probably need to replace your fuel filter, air filter, and spark plug.

On small engines, when they get turned over like that, oil tends to go places it shouldn't. Usually that means that your filters, and carburetor, and from there into your cylinder, fouling your spark plug.

Check those items, and replace any that have traces of oil in/on them.
