If the sim fits its the right type of card, if it needed a certain
carrier (ie Telstra) SIM Card, your putting the sim in it would
have locked it not just not read it. Either you put the sim in the
wrong way, make sure the metal on the sim matched up with the metal
grates on the phone OR more than likely the phone
is faulty and needs to be fixed.
