I'm unable to eject my CD. I cannot find a reset button on the back of my TAD-93. I also cannot load a CD into an empty slot

My product is a Fisher TAD-003 Digital High-Fidelity System with REM-993.

Generally when I cannot load/unload a CD I turn the machine off and the problem corrects itself.

This time it did not and I went so far as to unplug it from the wall. Still not working.

The CD player still plays existing CDS in the machine.

    Hello,

Yes, I have the 24 CD changer, please send me the necessary information to fix it.

    Thank you,

    Patricia

Sorry, I did not include the brand, it is a Fisher TAD-993 with REM 993 purchased 12/20/93.

It is a 24 CD Changer and has given me no other trouble except the occasional inability to insert or eject a disk. This has always been resolved by turning the machine off and on again.

Depending on the model, there may be no reset button.

To eject the CD try the following:

Unplug power cord.
Wait five minutes and plug power back.
Start the player and immediately start pressing repeatedly the eject button while the player unit is starting.
If you trigger the eject before the unit starts reading the disk TOC, then the disk will be ejected.
Try that a couple of times, if it does not work, then player may have a mechanical fault, or the player tray motor may be defective.

In that case ring the manufacturer using the number listed on owners manual.

Please, do not forget to leave feedback later.

Thanks.

G.

What brand is this?

I have repaired fisher since the 80's that model sounds familiar, but I can’t find the manual on it. I believe it is the 5 disk changer, if so you need to take the top off of it, on the left hand side there is a door catch, push down on that with your finger to open the front door. Then you need to manually eject each disk, this is not an easy task with this unit. You have to line up the belt system that you see on the right hand side with the platter you want to eject, then spin the wheels on that platter to get the unit to eject. The unit is failing because of a bad belt located on the moving arm to the right. Replace this belt. Also in order to get this to work right after repair all of the trays must be perfectly aligned on the left hand side there are a bunch of black switch looking devices, if one of the trays are out of align one of those switches will be pushed out simply move the tray back and forth until it is lined up again.

If this is one of the units that holds 24 or more disks the procedure is much easier, post back, if it is this one of these units, I will post the solution for this, and also the reason for the failure.

Ok, now that i can add a comment again, the cd's on this unit are manually ejected from a wedged shaped door on the cd housing inside the unit, the door is located on the right hand side looking from the front 1 or two screws will release the door, but before this you need to remove the outer cabinet, make sure you have the unit unplugged before you attempt this. remove the cds visible then spin easily spin the tray to access the other disks, sometimes the screw holding the wedged door will be hard to remove because of a circuit board that could be blocking access, this is on some versions of this unit.

Blueberry iMac with slot-loading CD rom drive will

It would be very difficult to open up the imac to retrieve the disc as the CD drive is totally enclosed and would probably result in it not be functional after removing the disk. Have a look at the following article on the apple website
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3007?viewlocale=en_US as it does indicate that the slot loading imac does have a hole for paperclip ejection. You could also try opening up disk utility and and clicking on the icon of your disk under the left hand column then go up to eject button and click eject. Hope this helps.

somtimes you have to disconnect power to the unit. pull the unit out and unplug it or disconnect the battery. if it doesnt work you may need a hammer.

CD Discs have been displaced inside the unit while moving

Had this happen to me awhile back while I was fixing a DVD scratch problem with my 400 changer. As I recall, the top cover comes off easily (a few side and back screws and perhaps an internal top try cover) and you can access the disks easily to reset them in their slots. Obviously, you should unplug the unit before you open it.
