Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Not downloading to computer Kodak easy share C180

Did you install the software and/or drivers before connecting it to your computer? if not, the computer won't recognize the camera. If you don't have the disk that came with the camera, you can get the software for free from Kodak's website. Download the software and drivers, then reconnect the camera to the pc with it turned on. That should solve your problem.

Good luck!

Camera will detect camera then come up with error message

What Operating system is your Lappie? If it is XP or 2000 no driver required. Best advice is to remove the camera soft ware from the computer. Plug the camera in and Windows will detect it as a new drive in My Computer. The best advice for software supplied with cameras is - Leave it in the Box and let WINDOWS DO THE WORK
