What type of fan? Ceiling, box, oscillating? Normally if the chain pulls out you need to go get a new switch but I need more info on the type of fan and model number.

It's actually a very easy repair. Those pull chain switches are very generic and can be found at home depot or any hardware store for about $3. As far as changing the switch, there should be three screws holding the light fixture to the fan, then one plug will connect the light to the fan. then unscrew the brass cap where the chain broke then cut the wires close to the switch, then there are only 2 wires to wirenut together and there is no incorrect combination to reconnect them.

You can get another chain with a hook at the end if there is any of the chain at all left on the fan to fix it.

You have to buy a new pull chain, usually two wire. Take light off fan and put new pull chain on as you take the old one off.

Harbor breeze fan remote

If the fan has a pull chain then push the Hi button and then pull the chain until it's on high. Then don't pull the chain! If that's not your problem then check the capacitor in the fan.

I can't seem to figure out how to properly assemble the chain onto my new Husqvarna 316e

I have a picture to show which way the chain will go on to the bar. Look at the cutting edge and that will face the bar tip across the top. There are teeth on the bottom of the chain that fit into the race (or guide slots) on the bar. The chain will run around the clutch at the engine end and the clutch will have gears that engage the teeth to pull the chain around. When you have the chain on the bar, pull up on the and keeping tension on the bar tip. should be a screw on the engine side of the bar to adjust the in/out of the bar to tighten the chain. Keeping the up tension on the tip, adjust the chain until you can pull the chain up only the width on a dime in the middle of the bar on the bottom. Pull the chain around the bar a few times, please wear good gloves. Hope this helps Fix Ya up. mcneb_38.jpg

My saw just stopped on my chain got stuck and came off as i was pulling it back out of the cut, well i thought it was just the chain came off and it would be a simply fix. but its still not working right?...

First, make sure the chain break is released. (top handle pulled all the way back)
Second, remove the chain cover. You will see a tab on the chain break (a band around the Centrifugal clutch) that fits into the handle/cover. Make sure that is in place and reassemble the unit.
Did this fix your problem?

Need to fix the pull chain on a model P3086

It uses a standard pull switch available at most hardware stores, just make sure you get one with the same No. of speeds and transfer one wire at a time.

Pull chain for fan difficult to operate

All Hunter ceiling fans are "remote control" adaptable. Consider a remote control for it.
There are Nylon pull strings fitted with a ball clasps on the ends. Consider that, too.

Pulled chain to slow down fan speed. Chain came out of the housing. Yikes. What should I do? Perfetually have the fan running or can I take it apart and fix it?

Turn the fan off at the breaker. Is there any chain still hanging out? If yes, buy new section of chain at hardware store. If no, buy new pull chain switch at hardware and replace.
