Heat pump compressor/fan/air handler runs heat for 30 secs, then all stop. (Trane XR 11 HP w/honeywell T8411R thermostat). Capacitor good, new 5-2-1 hard-start kit added but didn't solve problem.

Sounds like low pressure. Are you losing low voltage to condenser? Backup heat not working likely due to a setting error or possibly a wiring issue.

My compressor start but runs for 30 second then turn off

First check if condenser motor is running, secondary check if condenser coils are clean. If its commercial refrigerator it might have Low pressure switch and High pressure, if pressure of freon is to low on suction side it will shut power to compressor, same with high pressure switch - but thats commercial refrigeration. If it residential fridge and coils clean and fan is on - try to install 3n1 hard start kit, here is my video that might help You.

Delfield mini freezer for restaurant is not freezing. Unit has power and cabinet fan runs but comp tries to kick on then you here a click and it immidietly shuts off before it can really ever start. Hi...

Compressor is locked up. You have an outside chance of getting it to come back if you install a hard start capacitor. When a locked compressor tries to start it gets hot really fast and kicks the power off to prevent wires from overheating. You can get a hard start kit from wwgrainger or refrigeration supply company. Many times they won't sell direct to the end user. The hard start kit gives it an extra boost when it tries to start. Most times this won't work. Usually the compressor has to be replaced because it is burned out internally. The hard start kit is less than $20.00, so its worth a shot.

24ABR348A0031010 compressor starts then stops. Carrier 4 ton R22 unit. Worked great, then fan runs all the time. Compressor will start for less than a minute, then stop. Basically compressor will not stay...

Hello RR Hard start can't hurt BUT dosen't sound like the problem.Do you have a scroll compressor? They don't need a kit.Does it start every time?It could be short cycling on LOW PRESSURE SWITCH.If the unit is (pumping down) during the run time you have a restriction in the system.Make sure the service valves are open ,do you have a filter dryer colgging up or a bad TXV valve also could cause short run times.20-30 PSI the switch cuts out.

Water doesn't get cold anymore.

Hi, check receptacle for power, plug something, fan, radio etc, if there're power (voltage) it's possible your compressor has hard start, you can buy compressor hard start kit and try to start compressor, if compressor are working, maybe you got, freon leak, or you could have low voltage problem, or faulty overload relay on compressor, unplug water cooler, for about an hour, then replug it, let me know what happened, then i can tell you exactly what's problem. good luck.

Hi, did you change, capacitor for compressor too. check compressor overload switch,(relay) normally located on compressor terminals, (where you connect wires to compressor) that's the device that goes klix when compressor goes to start, could be faulty, or maybe low voltage from your mains(house panel) check line voltage, with digital volt meter, some compressor won't start if voltage drops to low, yes fan will work, could also be, your compressor has a lock rotor, (hard start), you can buy a compressor hard start kit, from appliance store, and try to start compressor, or maybe compressor internal winding, are damage, especially now in summer, when you got a lots of voltage drops, check compressor winding, check compressor winding for short circuit, remove cover on compressor, remove 3 wires from compressor terminal, use ohm meter, put one tester lead on copper tubing that's connected to compressor, and next lead to compressor terminal, one by one, if you get beep (continuity) from anyone of those compressor terminal, you got a short- circuit in compressor, you will have to replace compressor, but if there's no short, them try hard- start kit, replace overload relay, you will see it at compressor terminal location, after you remove cover. good luck.

Compressor on side by side refrigerator not starting / cooling

I would certainly suggest the hard start kit. Also make sure that voltage drop in the line feeding the unit is not an issue. Check the voltage in outlet as the unit starts. Use a fast responding analog meter as a digital will mask the dip.

Goodman heat pump trips sometimes no know cause.

Short cycling of the compressor can be an inconsistent cause of a breaker overload. It happens when the compressor start winding is "jolted" into operation several times over a short period this can happen when there is a loose power or control wire connection that is broken from the vibration at start up of the compressor or by the occasional "jiggling" of the mercury in older analog thermostats. I suggest that all electrical connections are checked and that you use a newer model thermostat, if its not already that has a built in start delay circuit.

Hope this helps you if your still having trouble with this issue.

Carrier 38YRA-O24

Does this happen just when you shut it off and try to restart it immediately? If so it is trying to start against pressure that has not been given time to balance out. If this happens at any time the unit tries to start it could be low voltage or a hard starting compressor. They make hard starting kits for this purpose.
