Oki pt341 pos printer won't print on a partner pos system

The older printer is a centronics printer and not a serial printer.
You can not mix the two without a conversion system. Best you try the USB formt.

Pos terminal no connection to printer

Randy, happy to help you brother, first things first!

Okay lets break this down in simple steps! this sounds like simple Networking issues, due to not printing and being able to use the credit cards features.

Is your POS in the same Network range? usually a network consists of 192.168.ZZZ.1 ( Z being a numerical example) all the way to 254. if your other pos is for example to say 192.168.0.80 then this pos has to be ALSO in the same range but with a different IP lets sayyy 192.168.0.81 or which ever is not in use. let me send you a link with the instructions on how to change an IP> https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/

if your connected to the same network, and you still can't do anything and your ip is correct, then this means that you have another equipment with the same IP as the POS this is called an "IP Conflict" simply change the IP of the adapter and your gonna be good to go.

if everything is perfectly fine, then restart the "Printer Spooler" service within the machine to be able to print and contact the printers. attaching the link aswell http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/05/videos~en/documents~esupport-start-restart-windows-print-spooler-eng-ver1.aspx

i hope i have been able to help you!

The problem I'm having is that the printer prints partially when printing receipts. Most of the numbers are un-readable.

You could try cleaning the thermal head (the black shiny thing inside the lid that does the printing) with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud. Failing that, it might need a thermal head replacement. Or you could also try printing in a larger font (if this is possible in your pos system).

If the print test works, then that rules out cables, etc. Definitely sounds like a comm setting issue. The most common problem with swapping serial printers is incorrect baud rate. Is that winpos from quest in Aus? I think they might use 9600 baud. You change the printer baud rate using the dipswitches under the panel on the bottom of the printer.

EPSON POS PRINTER does not print receipt

Try to clear your printer's queues up messages of all print commands that failed to print. See, what happens it when you send a document to printer, if it fails to print, and you send another, it queues up behind the first that failed to print. So instead of printing the second document it prints what you are seing, special characters etc.

Solution:
Go to start/priners and faxes and right click on your printer and select open. You will all the documents for print so far queued up. select and delete them. Restart your system and the printing should be Ok.
