Question about Sanyo PLC XU35 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Shutting off I make sure the air filter stay cleaned and no vents are blocked I have had my projector 2 years. I had to send it in last year. And, it went out again today. I hate this projector and would never buy another one. My other projectors lasted 4 years before I had to even change the bulb. I use it everyday all day. They didn't tell me if it was the bulb or the fan. But again today it just quit while I was using it.

You have a classic temp. sensor issue, common with all sanyo projectors. Very easy to repair. Take the top cover off, check the little black pot like thing mounted nexto/on the lamp housing, It has a small white head... Thats the temp sensor. When the unit gets hot, the sensor opens the power circut, so that no power can come through. All you have to do is push the little white head back down, so that it closes the circut, and subsequintly restores power.
Here is the service manual free, It will give you alot more detail.

I hav e a vivitek 1080hd projector and it turns on for a couple of seconds then shuts off. it blinks a code of 62. 6 blue blinks of the power button then 2 red blinks of the ready button

That code indicates a fan-2 error. These projectors generate a lot of heat and depend on air circulation to keep everything cool. Make sure nothing is blocking the vents on the projector. Check the fan for lint and dust. Make sure fan spins freely and is operating correctly. Keep projector away from any other heat sources. Hope this helps.

Lint all over clothes

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and the vent line?next time send the brand name and model number off of the machine, just cleaning off the lint filter isn't good enough, you should have the dryer taken apart, clean the duct that the filter slides into, vac out the cabinet where the motor is and if the vent line is a long run from the back of the dryer to the outside you can remove the vent line from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower,as long as there isn't a cage or anything on the outside hood stick the leaf blower in the vent line and blow the lint outside, also while you have the vent line off the back start the dryer and make sure you feel air blowing out the back of the dryer,if it doesn't you could have a problem with the blower wheel the dryer should be cleaned out at least once a year if it's gas and once every 1 1/2 to 2 years if it's electric.hope this helps and good luck with your dryer.

Our HC 6800 projector will work for about 10-20 minutes before displaying a solid red screen and shutting off.

Projectors shut off when they overheat. They overheat when air does not move through the projector cooling it. This happens when the fans are not working or air filters/vents are not working.
Check to see whether the fans are working. If they are working, open the top cover and see whether air filters/vents are covered with dust. If so clean them.
Good luck!

I have a PLV-Z1 about 5 yrs old, just replaced the bulb and it has continued to operate for about 10 minutes then turn off. You cannot turn it on again for hours. I have reset the buld life. What...

Hi,
It's possible that this problem is caused by overheating. There is a "Warning Temp" LED which should light if this is the case.

The following steps may help.
1) Ensure that there is ample ventilation around the projector, ie air vents are not blocked by walls, or have other heat sources nearby.
2) Ensure that the room temprature an humidity are not excessive.
3) Clean the air filters. Turn off the projector and disconnect the power. Turn over the projector and remove the air filter by pulling the latch upwards. It is located behind the leg nearest the lens side)/ Clean the air filter with a brush or wash out particles (it must be dry before reinserting). Replace the air filter, making sure it is fully reinserted. Clean the air intake vents (there are two of them near the air filter on the underside, nearer the back of the unit).

If the problem is caused by overheating these steps should help.

The projector lamp turns off after one hour.

Very likely the air vent is block or you will need to clean the air vent. The system track the hours of usage and when it is time to clean the air vent filter it will stop working. A clogged air vent will make the temperature of the equitpment rise. To protect the circuits and projector expensive light component it will stop working automatically. After cleaning up the air vent, see the manual how to reset the clock/timer for air vent cleaning timing, so that the lamp would not turn off.

Newer lamp not workering

I don't think that resetting the lamp is the problem if you have had it in there for a few months already. This lamp is rated for 2000 hours. That is abaout 1 year if you use it about 5 or 6 hours a day. If you don't use it that much you should get close to 2 years. There are a variety of factors that will reduce the life of your lamp. Do you let the fan continue to run after the projector is turned off? If not, you will see about half of the regular life. Are the filters clean? You can use a vacuum or rinse out foam filters to clean out the dirt and dust. The lamp needs good air circulation to cool evenly. Are the vents blocked or close to another componant? I'm pretty sure that you just need another lamp. If the lamp was purchased more then 4 months ago, you are probably out of warranty. You can save yourself some money if you buy the bare bulb and replace it in the old cartridge. It looks like the complete lamp module from Sharp runs around 295.00 but the usually have a bare bulb available. We supply a variety of brands fior each projector. You can contact me at 866-470-9877 or go to allprojectorlamps.com. Good luck!

Dryer is heating but not blowing air

when was the last time you cleaned the dryer?try removing the vent line from the back of dryer to see if any air is blowing out, also is the dryer noisy?you could have a bad blower wheel.you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and behind that duct you'll find the blower wheel, also vac out the dryer where the motor is and if the vent line is a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow it out, make sure the outside vent isn't blocked with anything before you blow the vent line out, send model number if you need help getting the blower wheel part number if that's your problem, you should clean the dryer at least once a year so you don't have a fire, good luck
