If you just want to look at file and not tinker with it, you can open a Dos Command window, change directory to where the file is file_name, or give the whole path to the file location and at the command prompt TYPE File-Name and Press Return/Enter. If it scroll too fast for you, Press the Pause Button on keyboard or use the /p filter on your command line. But if you really want to play inside file (at your own RISK) you can use the free downloadable editor HexEditor or XVI32 Launch a Google search for them.

You need to download the bin file from their site that contains the latest firmware for that model.put it onto a formatted sd card with just the bin file ...no folders just the file.then put the sd card into the device and then switch on...follow the onscreen instructions.always keep the engine running if it's powered by vehicle or only update when you know the battery is fully charged otherwise you will brick the device if it powers down whilst it is updating.
Register the VX9600.dll file. Go to the directory "C:/LG Electronics/LGNPST/models/VX9600" and put the "VX9600.dll" and the "LGNPST_GenericModel_Ver_1_0_5_0.dll" files into that folder. (These files were in the "DLLs.rar" file.) Now, RIGHT CLICK on the "VX9600.dll" file and click "Register".
Update your phone. Now plug in your phone and open up the LGNPST software. It should be under Programs ->Phone Flashing Applications -> LG Electronics. You should see your VX9600 under the "Model" column. Now where it says "BIN File" click the folder icon and navigate to the "VZW" folder with the bin file, then select it. You may also need to go to file -> Select DLL and select the "VX9600.dll" file, although I didn’t need to when I did it. Click start and your phone's firmware will be reflashed.
Try resetting the router. If it does not work then you will have to update the firmware of the router. To do that you have to download the firmware file of the router ( it will have an extension of .bin). Save the file in your pc and go to the router's page and update it. It will look for a .bin file. Browse to the location where you downloaded the firmware and update.
in order to upgrade the firmware please follow the steps:
1. Click the link (http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/linksys/)
2. Enter the model number of the router and hit enter.
3.Click Download Tab
4.Now enter the hardware version of the router (which you can find by turning the router upside down)
5.Now you can download the firmware which is a .bin file and save it to the desktop.
6.Open the router page and click Administration and click Firmware upgrade.
7.Select the file from the desktop by clicking Browse and start upgrade.
8.Turn off the router for 30 seconds after upgradation and turn it on..
OK. First, that dg836gt_1_02_09.img file does not seem to be a firmware file. You need to get a .zip file or a .bin file to upgrade the firmware. Check Netgear's website for the current firmware. If it is a .zip file, then you need to extract the .bin file from the .zip file with winzip software. Then, log into your router with Internet Explorer by typing it the routers IP address in the address bar like this http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Enter user name and password. Look for a tab that states software update. Browse for the .bin file you downloaded or extracted from the .zip and click update.
Your router latest Firmware I can see on D-link website is 1.02 If you are referring to German web site page showing a dwl-g700ap_fw_revB_v213b06.zip file be sure to follow the instruction to UNZIP the web_dwlg700ap_v200_r11_0408.bin file: DWL-G700ap Firmware Update
If you did not unzip the bin file router cannot run it as firmware update More over be sure to run the update via LAN cable connection (no WLAN)
You need to access the router setup page: To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the router (192.168.1.1). Type “admin” for the User Name and “admin” in the Password field.
To access the FIRMWARE UPDATE setting window, click on the Firmware Update button under the MAINTENANCE tab. FIRMWARE UPDATE To update firmware, click on the Browse… button to search for the file and then click on the Update Firmware button to begin copying the file. The Router will load the file and restart automatically.
Have you tried a hard reset? Your model has a small reset button at the rear between the Internet/WAN connection and one of the antennas (Press for 10 seconds +).
Also flashing power led is an indicator of firmware problem which might have been caused by a failed firmware upgrade/update. Instruction on how to correct this problem is also included in the firmware upgrade/update. A more detailed instruction is in the User Manual.
With regards to firmware update/upgrade , pls be reminded that firmware is very version specific. To locate the version number, you have to look underneath the unit and download the appropriate firmware from LinkSys website. (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859878881&packedargs=sku%3D1115416826220&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=7888126220B03&displaypage=download)
The download is a zip file which you have to extract to a folder. The .bin file plus instructions as well as specific instructions on how to make the power led stop flashing.
Hope this works out for you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
