there's a product called "washer magic" and you can buy at OSH. It works great for hard water. Just poor the entire bottle in the unit and fill it up on high and hot water. Then run with no clothes until cycle is complete.
Best of luck.

Checking to see if the water line is clogged or broken on my cuisinart dcc1200 coffee maker. The water doesn't come out of the showerhead. Help!!

Most likely clogged with a calcium buildup. Run a solution of water and vinegar through the machine to dissolve the hardness buildup. Stop about 1/2 the way through and let it set for an hour. Turn back on and let it finish. Remember to run a pot of clean water through after to wash out the vinegar. (You may have to run more than one clean cycle if it's really clogged).

How do you get rid of mold smell in washing machine

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

I understand that you have a mold smell developing inside of your Frigidaire washer. I would normally recommend using a clean wash cycle with either one cup of bleach or one pouch of Tide Washing Machine Cleaner. If you do not have a clean wash cycle on your washer you could also use hot water and a regular cycle with a cup of bleach to clean out your washer.

You should also check over your gasket to assure there is no mold buildup, if you do locate mold inside of your gasket you can use bleach to help get rid of any residue. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Hotpoint fdl570

If you live in and area with hard water, it is entirely possible that mineral buildup is blocking the water fill valve. The easiest way to remedy the problem will b e to replace the valve assembly.

Have just tried to install a secondhand dishwasher which goes for about 5 mins and then shows UE. Could you please tell me how to fix this? Thank you Nancy

UE- means an unbalanced load in a washing machine.
le- means make sure water supply inlet hose is on. check inlet hose for any kinks or bends in the line

that could prevent the machine from filling properly, check and make sure the water supply is on

completely and not partially. check inlet filter for buildup of mineral deposits. clean filter with small

brush. make sure that machine can drain properly. good luck!

Have a buildup of a hard orangy (rust color) deposit on the bottom of the interior glass door. Seems like mineral deposits, but the color is odd. How do I get rid of it.

The color shouldn't be a problem. This is common as this is where the door seals and dirt and detergent seems to collect here. Getting rid of it may be a little more tough. It has probably been building up for a while unnoticed because the color stays faint for a long time. First try cleaning with glass cleaner or vinegar and water solution. If this does not work try CLR. You will have to scrub at it but most of it should come off. I have seen this quite a bit and it usually does not all come off. If the door is glass you can be a little more abrasive with the stain but if the door is plastic be very careful not to use abrasives as this is where the door seals.
Thank you

How do I get rid of mold on the seal ?

Bleach and water solution will get rid of the mold but will not deter future buildup. To prevent future growth of mold leave door open to dry out. Mold likes to grow in damp dark places. Hope this helps

Slime buildup in my washing machine

The slime is almost certainly the enzymes in the washing powder that are there to digest the dirt getting left behind.

3 things you can try:

  1. As a one off to help clear out the slime, throw a couple of DISHWASHER tablets into the machine and run it through the hottest cycle it has. This may help get rid of the problem, but it will of course come back.
  2. Reduce the amount of washing powder you are using and keep cutting back until you get to the point where the clothes arent getting clean (This has the advantage of cutting the cost of your powder purchases too!). This should allow the machine to more effectively purge the drum when it rinses.
  3. Finally, change your powder, if for no other reason than a test, go try a pack of NON-BIO washing powder and see if that helps. If it does, either stick with it or experiment with other powders until you find one that helps and you like.
A combination of 2 and 3 above should eventually get you where you need to be.
