Question about Maytag MSD2454G Side by Side Refrigerator
The fingers constantly spin on the ice maker. i never hear the water fill cycle engage. i put tap water in to the tray to freeze it but the fingers still continue to rotate. i also checked the line at the back of the fridge and no water was in it.
You have a bad water inlet valve behind the refrig . This is the piece that the wall water line connects to . There are 2 coils on this valve . One for the water dispensor and one for the ice maker .

Turn the bale up on the IM head, to shut it off. sounds like the thermostat in the IM head is bad, or maybe the water valve. If you put water in the tray on the head and the fingers kept going I would suspect the head thermostat. change the IM head
