Software problem i had a problem with my system i installed a new software when i shut down my it is spoiled and asking to reinstall the software i am unable to understand the problem would you help me? the software is reliance lux800modem

Restart your computer the press f8 to go safe mode the remove it, then restart again.. re installed again if the same problem... copy the software to your drive d: then run it

Hi,
you can find the missing file in the driver cd that came with your device(printer). Unplug the printer, uninstall the driver, restart your system and then run the installation. Make sure your printer is not connected to the pc when you're running the installation. The system will ask you to plug it in at a point during the installation. After the installation, restart your system, so it arranges the registry. That should do it.

It means that you are a victim of pirated software

the operating system installed on your pc is not an original one but a pirated copy

the only solution is reinstalling original operating system

I have a MSI K8N Neo3 MB with AMD 64 2800+ C. IPU; (1) PC-3200 256Mb and (1) 512Mb DIMM's; ATI video card. The unit has not changed in past 3 years and has worked fine. Now it just will not power down...


I don't know your experience level so if I'm to basic please don't take offense and if I not basic enough don't hesitate to ask for clarification. I've split this up into 3 parts; hardware, software and security.
First you should quit unplugging your computer to shut it off. If you don't have hardware problems already unplugging you computer while it's running is a good way to cause them.
Other than a physical problem with the CPU or motherboard you seem to have ruled out almost everything. If you haven't tried it yet try holding down your power button until the power supply shuts down (usually 10-30 seconds). If this doesn't work given what you've already tried you probably have a damaged CPU or motherboard or an incompatable power supply (any ATX supply should shut down).
If this does shut down your system your problem is more likely software related. There are several possibilities (all can cause the system to not turn off);
1) corrupted system files
2) corrupted system settings
3) malware (spyware, viruses, data miners, ect...)
4) hacked system (there are numerous possibilities here)
a) to get an idea if you've been hacked open system info in control panel, if your RAM is showing considerably less than what you have installed that's a strong sign you've been hacked.

I would recommend doing a new install of Windows, not a reinstall. Your problem could be corrupt settings and Windows may import your old setting with a reinstall. If you have a spare hard drive I'd do the install on it, this will allow you to save your data while you determine for certain if the problem is hardware or software related. If this doesn't solve your problem then your problem is (again) most likely hardware. If you determine it's hardware, you need either spare parts or expensive testers to determine your exact problem.
If a new install on another drive solves your problems you need to consider items 3 and 4 above. A new O.S. install should solve the problem for now but you need to consider your security options. You'll need a firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware. You should also set the password on your CMOS/BIOS. If you can use accounts with your version of Windows set up a (supervisor) maintenance account and a (limited) user account. Use passwords on these accounts, use the user account unless your actually doing system maintenance that requires superviser access, this will help limit the ability for others to make changes to your system.
Your passwords for your CMOS/BIOS and supervisors should be strong, at least 14 characters with upper and lower case letters and numbers if your system will allow it included special characters. Write these down and store them in a safe place, the only persons you should tell your passwords should be "me, myself and I".

My Sony VGN-NR180E will not shut down when shutting down.


Some fo the software crashes whie it's shutting down. Either load up a system restore point from before theis problem started, or reinstall some of the software until you no longer get the problem.
Careful with system restore because when you select a date for it to go back to it will uninstall any software that you installed after that date. It will NOT delete your personal data, like pictures, music, etc even if you put them on the computer after the date selected.

Hi.
If Quicken is shutting down you won't be able to access your accounts.You need to repair the software first.
All you can do is trying to start in safe mode by pressing F8 on startup and check if Quicken can start in safe mode.
If the problem started recently, you can try doing a system restore to a date before the problem started. You find System restore from Start button at:
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
If that does not fix the problem, then you need to reinstall Quicken using the software CD and your licence number. If you choose to reinstall on top of the existing installation you wont loose any setting (repair).
If quicken does not reinstall from current account, then create a new account with administrator privileges and then reinstall quicken from the new account.
If you are still not able to remove and reinstall the software you can try using the free Microsoft utility available here to remove recently installed software.
Note: A new Quicken setup does not delete your data, but there is the chance that data had been previously damaged. In that case you can use a recent backup, or try recovering damaged data, see Basic troubleshooting to correct data file damage

Ulead Videostudio 8 SE Basic has stopped working. I have no idea why. It won't open and I need this software working. It just will not open at all. It starts to, then it gives me one of those Microsoft...


Send the report to M.S. then you will get a window asking if you wish to see more details, click yes and you will get an explanation of what has gone wrong.
Alternativly, if this problem has occured after a change in software, like installing a new program or a new piece of hardware then there may be some settings that need changing, as a last resort, go into a system retsore point, last known good configuration.

its so we can not install xp in model 1255 it will spoils your hard disk all you can install win98 ED 2 only..... so its wise not to try it and reinstall using win 98 install disk. if format is not possible do format using Fdisk command.
step 1 :enter dos floppy
restart ur lap enter from insulation option.
chance boot perority to floppy disk ie Shift +.
restart lap
enter fdisk in commant

Reboot

Shut down any active protection software such any antivirus, antispyware, antitrojan, or registry monitoring software.

Try to Unistall by using the install disk. It should detect a previous installation and ask if you want to Install, Repair, or Uninstall.

If that fails, download and run CCleaner - Use the Cleaner and Regisrty modules default settings

Reboot, and shut down active protection software.

Download and run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

Remove the applicable entries.

Reboot, and shut down active protection software.

Reinstall

When the system shut down and start over again is related to some drivers or software conflict.
Other cause are:

Bad power supply
Bad connectors or power button
Bad slot on your motherboard
Bad Video Card - Bad Modem Card

1) Did you install some hardware or software lately?
If yes Unistall everything.

If not Go to the bios and see if your video card was setup properly
Switch the modem to another slot available.
Do the same with your video card


If the system still does not reconigze the cards
Reinstal OS

Reformatting is a little drastic.

This is a somewhat common driver error - when your machine sends out the signal to devices to shut down, one of them is throwing errors (bad ones) in the shut-down process. You need to find the hardware (or less likely, software) device that is not shutting down properly.

It is very often video drivers; try changing your video drivers to the Microsoft defaults and then shutting down, rebooting, and shutting down again. If the IRQ error does not turn up, you have a video driver error, and need to visit the HP web site and get the latest video drivers for that laptop model.

If it is not the video driver, you need to look into what new drivers or devices have been installed that might be non-standard. Unplug the laptop from everything that plugs in - USB devices, printers, SD and USB memory devices, hubs, everything. If this fixes the problem work backwards until you have re-installed the problem device and try to uninstall and install it again with the latest drivers.

It might also be the wireless network facility not shutting down properly. Try shutting this off in the hardware (with the wireless button on the keybaord) and DISABLING it in network settings and try shutting down.

Once you find the hardware device that is not shutting down properly, UNINSTALLING it in the DEVICE MANAGER and then rebooting and reinstalling it from scratch with the latest drivers usually works.
