Intermittent faults especially one as intermittent as yours can be very difficul to trace but the first things to check are loose connections on the power supply leads at the back of the radio and if they are ok you will need to dismantle your radio and check for dry joints usually around the plug and if needed resolder these dry joints

should be somthing like this, if you get an adapter from walmart or sonicelectronix it should just be a color code matchup for your vehicle.

The wiring for the DEH-245, a closely related unit, is below:
Orange = +12V constant Red = +12V switched Black = ground Blue/white = remote on Green/Black = Left Front - Green = Left Front + Grey/Black = Right Front - Grey = Right Front + Black/White = Right Rear - Grey/Red = Right Rear + Black/Green = Left Rear - Green/Red = Left Rear +
I recently bought a non working Pioneer DEH-P6850MP off Ebay and found that the ribbon between the face and deck was the problem .When the ribbon was given a bit of a wriggle the deck would fire up and the face would go back in .Dont know if this helps but i didnt see any other helpful hints anywhere ?
Check in the front and you should see a small hole thats about the same diameter as a paper clip. Open up a paperclip to a straight 2 inches and poke it through the hole. It should release the door so you can get it open or at least seat the cd if thats whats making it not open.
turn radio off, and press the "audio" botton until clock is displayed. then click it again shortly till you see "FM 100" on the display, press > (side arrow, now it should switch to "FM 50". long press on the "audio" to save and exit.
afterwards it should work fine.
Hey, all you have to do is to turn off your radio and press on the audio botton until you can adjust your clock, then press again until you see "FM 100" on the display, now push the ">" botton to change it to "FM 50" and finaly another long press on the audio to wrap up.. and it's done.
