Question about HP DeskJet 6122 InkJet Printer
I am trying to help a friend, long distance, on how to install a printer driver for her Apple. She knows NOTHING about how to install a driver or even what a driver is. I do not know apple, just pc. I downloaded the driver for her HP deskjet 6122 for her operating system OSX. The file has a DMG extension so I downloaded bitzipper. I have sent both downloads to her via email. I'm not sure if she knows how to save the files to her Mac. Can you tell me these steps? Then what file utility does she use to access these files?
Once the files are on her computer, and we unzip the driver, I am assuming that she will just double click the driver file and it will walk us thru the instructions?
I know how to do this on ibm pc, just not on a Mac. Thanks for your help.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You could set this printer up on a desktop computer that is always on and connected to the same network and then share it from that computer as a shared printer. You can share printers over a network by right-clicking on that printer under windows and clicking properties and then on the sharing tab and then make sure that the "share this printer" is checked/filled in.
Then you find the computer on the network through My Network Places and open it up and the printername should be listed. Right click on that printer and click on connect. Then drivers for that printer will be installed on your computer and you should be able to print to it like it was attached directly to your wifi laptop.
If you are having trouble check your firewall settings

Most likely the files have been unzipped to a TEmp folder. You can do a search for these files, or alternately, make a folder on your desktop and change the destination of unzipped files to that folder. You could also try using the 'Classic" view in WinZip..
