A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

If you are dealing with a BIOS level password (Before Windows Loads) an you don't have the password, you'll need to contact Dell Technical Support for a Master Password (There are no jumpers or an hardware manner to bypass the BIOS password).
To get a Master Password from Dell, you will need to be able to verify you are an approved system user, then they will assist with the password. (If system is not in warranty, there may be a fee for tech support)

Why am I continually receiving error message 0x800CC92 when trying to access emails.

Hi Angela,

The first step is to check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are as in the screenshots, and that your full user name and password are correct.

Then test your connection by following this procedure.

Click the Start button then RUN type in cmd on (Windows NT/2000/XP) or Command (Windows 95/98/ME). This will open a new command prompt window, with white text on a black screen.

Type in the following exactly as it appears. You will not see what you are entering so take it slowly, and if you make a mistake, start again.
telnet pop.tiscali.co.uk 110 and then click the Enter key on your keyboard. You will then be connected to the email server.

Type in USER followed by your email address e.g. USER jo_blog@tiscali.co.uk and then click the Enter key. You will then get a message +OK Please enter your pass, with the PASS command

Type in PASS followed by your password e.g. PASS joblog0370 and click the Enter key. If it is correct, you will get an OK Well done message.

If you can do this, you have connected to the Tiscali server and so the problem lies somewhere with Outlook Express.

If you can't get in this way either, it could be that your password has somehow become corrupted. Try changing it in My Account. Try again.
If this doesn't work, it may be that TCP/IP has somehow become corrupted within Windows. So try reinstalling TCP/IP. To do this
Click Start
Settings
Control Panel
Network connections
Right click your connection and click Properties
Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Uninstall
Then close down your PC and open it up again.

Follow the same steps as above, but instead of clicking Uninstall click Install.
On the screen which appears, click Protocol and then Add
Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then OK (You may be prompted for your Windows installation disk at this point.
If you run Windows XP, the process is slight different. You need to

Click Start
Run
Then type in Command
In the screen which appears, type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

I have a DFI LANPARTY DK 790fxb M2rsh it wont boot..just a blinking cursor... first it detect the drives then go to the blinking underline thing on the top left...sometime it boots normally but there are...

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error another possibility
Restart your computer with the XP Setup disk in the CDROM drive. If you are prompted to press a key to start the computer from CDROM, do so quickly. Otherwise it may try to boot from the hard drive. After a few minutes, you'll see a prompt to press the R key to start the Recovery Console. When Recovery Console starts, it will prompt you to enter a number corresponding to the Windows XP installation that you need to repair. In most cases, you'll enter "1" (which will be the only choice). If you press ENTER without typing a number, Recovery Console will quit and restart your computer. Enter your Administrator password. If you don't enter the correct password, you cannot continue. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type fixmbr and then verify that you want to proceed. Your damaged MBR will be replaced with a shiny new one, and you should then be able to boot your system normally. In some cases, you may need to repair the boot sector in addition to the MBR. If your system still doesn't boot properly, repeat the steps above, but issue the fixboot command instead. Hope this helps

If I reset my router, do I need the CD to reconfigure or change the password

You don't actually need the CD to reconfigure your router or change the password or anything related to your router. So long as the router is connected to your computer via ethernet cable you can access the browser configuration page of your router.

1. connect your router to your computer via ethernet cable

2. If you are using Windows XP
- click start
- click run
- type cmd
- in the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
- look for the default gateway (example 192.168.1.1)
- Open Internet explorer
- type in the address bar: http://the default gateway (example http://192.168.1.1) then press enter and it'll ask you for the password
- usually the username is blank and the password is admin or the username is admin and the password is pass or password

If you are using Windows Vista / Windows 7
- Click the pearl button
- Click on start search at the bottom of the pop-up window
- type cmd (don't press enter yet)
- right click the black icon on the top of the window after typing cmd
- click on the run as administrator
- click on continue if there's a prompt
- in the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
- look for the default gateway (example 192.168.1.1)
- Open Internet explorer
- type in the address bar: http://the default gateway (example http://192.168.1.1) then press enter and it'll ask you for the password
- usually the username is blank and the password is admin or the username is admin and the password is pass or password

After successful accessing the configuration page you can now configure your router freely.
