Ge ice marker no 120v to seloniod water valve

I have a Ge Hotpoint Model HSM25GFRE SA with a ge ice maker in it. The ice maker stop working becuase no water is being delivered to the ice marker. The Solenoid for the front water dispenser works ok. I have water to the ice marker soleniod. When I test for voltage at the soleniod I don't see any. (But if I disconnect the pulg to the selonoiud and test just the plug terminals I have 120V. I have replaced theice maker with one that works. But still no seloniod operation. But I can see it "NOT" operating since there isn't any power to it from the unit. If I take a seperate 120v power from a power led and took it to the seloniod terminals with the plug from the unit disconnected It will power the seloniod and I get water. So I don't know where the problem lies. In the wiring from the ice make to the seloniod or what

It sounds like the plug-in for the solenoid valve is not making contact with the terminals on the solenoid . You can either buy a new connector or cut the plug for the solenoid and crimp 1/4 inch sta-cons (insulated type) to the wires.

Does not make ice

Either the ice maker is not calling for water or the ice maker water valve is not working, there are many different types of water valves so its very dificult to tell you what to do without a model number or picture of the valve, but generaly speaking if you VERY CAREFULLY put 120V to a water valve it should open and alow water to flow, you can try this for the valve that has a water line going to the ice maker and see if it lets water go to the ice maker, sometimes there are two valves that must open, one main valve and then another for either the water dispensor or the ice maker. a better first test might be to test the water valve for resistance across the coil and compair it to another coil and see if its close-ish. also you can test some ice makers and see if they are putting 120V to the water valve by bypassing the bimetal and causing the ice maker to go into a cycle, but again a model number is required to know what kind of ice maker you have., even a picture would help

Ice maker not working but water keeps leaking and freezing on the freezer door

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards

My Ice Maker Stopped Working, is ther some sort of breaker somewhere

Depending on the model number of your GE the most likely reason is the water control valve on the rear of the refrigerator. You can test the ice maker to see if it works. Fill with tap water and let freeze. If it cycles and dumps the ice the the water valve is the problem. If the ice make does nothing the the ice maker is the problem. GE side by side; model # TFX25JRYD Serial #

So the dispenser is getting water. Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

If the valves clicks but water doesn't get to ice maker the fill tube can be stopped up with ice.The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

I have a GE Profile Stainless Steel refrigerator; the Model number is PFS22SISBSS. The ice maker stopped working.

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

GE Profile refrigerator ice maker stopped working

I had the same problem where one of the solinoids in the valve- the one controlling water to the ice machine had stopped working. A good test is to pour water into where the ice cubes are made. If ice cubes come out then the problem is most likely in the valve. I replaced my valve for the second time in 8 years today and the ice is comming out nicely.

GE Monogram ZISS480DMCS Ice Maker Problem

Check and make sure that the float arm in the ice bin is down and able to swing. This arm should be down until the bin is full of ice which would raise the arm and stop any water flow until ice cubes are removed, and allows the arm to drop again to start the cycle all over again, to replace the ice that was used. The arm has a spot to snap in and be held where it would be in a position all the way raised, to allow the bin to come out for cleaning or all of the ice removal from the bin, such as to dump the ice in a cooler. The arm should be gently pulled down to hang freely and will slowly raise on its own as the bin fills with ice.
