Question about Cell Phones

I have installed Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0 and am using Windows XP SP3. I need help with configuring the settings for syncing and backing up data viz. contacts, tasks etc. from my PC to my bold. My blackberry bold 9000 is not identified by the desktop manager, when connected. Please help.

    the USB cable is working fine. because it identifies the device but as a mass storage device. but there is a driver issue. not sure how I can resolve this. I have installed the updates for the USB driver.

    I have updated all drivers for USB etc for the my Blackberry Bold + Desktop Manager. Need more specific help with this problem. Since, I have seen others too facing a similar problem.

Blackberry usb settings are probably set on Mass storage - for file transfer instead of the normal mode for desktop manager use. Have a look around the blackberry settings.

First check that usb cable is working fine and usb driver for your blackberry is installed corrrectly in computer.
If you use bluetooth for connect to dekstop bluietooth dongle then check in computer that bluetootrh driver is installed in dekstop and check in settings that bluetooth is enabled in bb.

  • You can do 1 more thing reset all bb settings to factory defaults.
    Pull battery and meor ycard from it then refix both.
    Then check.

Get to Properties for Picture Manager (e.g. if you have a desktop icon you can right clck and Properties will be the last choice on list) and the third tab should be compatability.

Click on the top most box to Run ... and it will enable prior Windows versioning. Pick XP SP3 (sixth choice). The pick OK or Apply.

There is a Help Me dialog that you can pick that will assist with settings if the above basic fix is not sufficient.

Here is how you do it:

1Install Blackberry Desktop Manager Softwarewhich included in your Blackberry Installation CD. If you don’t haveone, you may download software from Here
2Make sure you set an Outlook profile that the Desktop Manager can use.3Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.4Connect your Blackberry with your computer via USB cable and allow Blackberry device driver install.5Click on Synchronize in BlackBerry Desktop Manager.6Activate the Synchronize organizer data checkbox: BlackBerry Synchronize.7Click on the Configuration tab. How to import calendar and contacts from outlook to BB


Hello,

Step 1 Install Blackberry Desktop Manager Manager from
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/

Step2
Connect blackberry to your PC using a USB cable and let blackberry device driver install. When device driver install is complete, it will alert "hardware installed successfully" in your windows task tray.

Step3
Run Blackberry Desktop software and choose SYNCHRONIZE option.

Step4
Now choose CONFIGURE and you may select CONTACTS, CALENDAR, NOTES, and TASKS databases by clicking check boxes next to each. After you select each item, it will ask which application you would like to sync it with, you will choose OUTLOOK for all.

Step5
Now click OK out of all windows until you are at the main blackberry desktop manager screen. click SYNCHRONIZE. Make sure that the SYCHRONIZE ORGANIZER DATA check box is checked. Now click SYNCHRONIZE NOW to begin synchronization.

I get an intellisync error 0x8004fd28 when trying to Sync my blackberry


Hi, When attempting to synchronize between the computer and the BlackBerry smartphone, the Error 0x8004fd28 message appears on the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. This is due to the intellisync folder is corrupted. To resolve this issue, you need to complete the following steps: 1. Close BlackBerry Desktop Manager. 2. On the computer, navigate to the appropriate folder listed below: · If you are using Windows® XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync · If you are using Windows Vista?, go to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync Note: If you are unable to view the above folder refer to additional information section on instruction on how to view hidden files 3. How to set up sync between blackberry 8310 with outlook 2007 contacts


you have to open your blackberry desktop manager software. goto synchronize, and then configure synchronize and then tell the desktop manager to sync with outlook for you contacts calendar and so forth. so from then on when you plug your bb into your pc and strat up desktop manager, when you choose to sync it will sync your bb with outlook.

Blackberry Desktop and Vista


First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

Caalendar on my desk top for my blackberry curve 8300


the blackberry will be using the Outlook calendar to update its information. its quite easy to use. What's happening is that the items calendared on the BB are syncing with the "private" calendar under the username (Outlook Today - Username - Calendar), and not the "public" calendar (All Public Folders - John Doe). No items are marked as "private" on the BB.

Install the Blackberry Desktop manager software and after its done go to the Syncronize Button. Once inside look to the left for configuration synchronization click this button it need you to be online to do this as well. inside it will list the many programs that can be used to sync your blackberry make sure you have already setup your outlook so that it can pick up the new settings your creating. once your all done look for the top upermost button on left of BDM ( blackberry desktop manager) and click syncronize to sync your blackberry. now once it is done your BB only needs to be plugged in and it will autosync itself. look in your outlook for new entrys and popup

How To Open Downloaded Desktop & USB Drivers?


You just need to double click the .exe files you have downloaded and the follow the on screen prompts to install. Once both are installed, connect the USB sync cable to your Computer and Blackberry and the Configure the Synchronization settings to the email program listed that you use.

Here is the solution for the BBC.

Install instructions from forums:

1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.

- Get BBconnect cab file from: http://www.america.htc.com/mobile/connect/8925/
- Make sure your remove all ActiveSync synchrnonization in Comm Manager -> Active Sync-> Options for your PIM.
- Install cab and run blackberry app
- Go in PIM tab and selct all PIM items you want to sync with
