Question about Hotpoint FFA60 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

3 Answers

I have a kelvinator elite dutch dooe fridge. It has a fridge-wide bottom storage drawer at bottom of fridge section with a flip up lid. Lid is securedby and rotates on 2 plastic "dowels" that are integral pieces on either side of the box. One broke off when removing the drawer for cleaning. Can it be replaced? Will it cost an arm and a leg?

    The model number is 596.76583602

  • pschatzy Sep 09, 2009

Oh, and facing the fridge, the broken peg is on the right side. It appears to be part of a larger bracket of some sort

  • pschatzy Sep 09, 2009

The last expert was only able to direct me to the sears website which has no solution. What a waste of my $12.95.

What do you mean by cost the 2?

See the Sears parts site for your washer:

If you look at the section / diagram of the cabinet, you should get an idea of how / where the brackets attach.

Pull out your WIDE-N-FRESH Deli Drawer at the bottom, and when the lid automatically raises look to the right: you'll find a sliding temperature controller that most likely is all the way up. Slide it down towards the bottom and this will cut back on the cool. Worked for ours!

Lid is stuck in "down" position on the right only.

k the only thing you can do is try starting then stopping each drawer to see if the lid will go back up if not it will even be a hard one for the serviceman. you can't swap the wires like you've done it will cause large problems like a jammed lid sorry.

F1 is a flood code meaning excessive amounts of water have collected on the bottom catch basin.
If a flood condition is detected, both draws will activate the drain motors and flash F1.
Remove the bottom drawer by pulling the lock pins on each lower side corner. Slide down and remove front cover. Release the drawer slide clips and remove drawer then dry the catch basin.
There are three possible scenarios for this error code;
1. Defective lid motor(s)...Each drawer has two lid motors, attached to the cabinet on either side of the drawer, that pull the lid tight to the drawer when the cycle is started. (this was very common on early models)
2. Something too tall was placed in the drawer preventing the lid from closing completely.
3. (only seen this once) the drain hose developed a crack causing water to leak only when draining.

Water always inside refrigerator sometimes ice forms

Sounds like you might have a condensation problem. Is the fan in your freezer working? If not it's not circulating the cold air. If it is you might have frost on the lower rear wall of your freezer meaning its not defrosting like it should and restricting your air flow. Last but not least you have a damper door in the upper left corner of your fridge that allows the cold air from your freezer into the fridge to cool it, that might not be opening up. Any one of these things would cause your water problem and a warm fridge section
