Sounds like the bott oven element has gone, or faulty thermostat.

My Hotpoint electric oven no longer heats up. The top oven works but not the main one. How can I fix this?

HI, seen this before with the ge/hotpoint elec. ovens i worked on when i did apartment maintenance. One could be a bad control switch(knob u turn to turn on oven).turn on broiler and see if it comes on,if it does not that could be it.If it comes on it u might have to replace lower element, but could still be control switch not working for that section. But it will one or the other.

I have a hotpoint ew91 oven that stopped working after tripping house fuse. after resetting fuse fan works but no heat.

It is most likely that the oven heating element has failed which caused the house fuse to trip.

The replace the heating element will mean taking the back off the oven and removing the old heat element by undoing the fixing screws and the electrical connectors( normally this surrounds the fan assembly).

Fitting the new heat element should then be straight forward.

Remember to disconnect the power to the oven before removing the back.

What is the power ampage for the hotpoint double oven bu62 ?

All appliances must have a rating plate attached. This gives the load etc. It hsa to be there by law, and on some appliances, is duplicated on the back. Max draw on a double oven would be 3 elements and a fan.
