Question about Linksys SRW224G4 24-Port Ethernet Switch

Open Question

VLAN Problem i have a 1 zyxel modem connected to 1 D-Link DI-604 Router connected to 1 Linksys SRW224G4 Switch and the 2 D-Link DES-1024 Switch are connected to SRW. All computers are connected to the 2 DES-1024 switch. I want to configure 2 vlan, VLAN1 & VLAN2. The DES-1024 port 1 connected to port e2 on SRW and thats my vlan1. the another DES-1024 is connected to port e3 which is vlan2. The Router is connected to port e1. How can i configure the SRW VLAN to not to see each vlan, for example the VLAN1 cannot see all computers that connected to VLAN2 and same with the VLAN2 also can't see the VLAN1, this is for security reason for example VLAN1 is for Accounting Dept and VLAN2 is for Admin so they won't see file sharing to the other VLAN. Can I do this to my SRW224G4 Switch. Please help!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

The linksys may be assigning IP addresses that conflict with the router. Usually you need to disable Dynamic IP assignment in downstream routers and switches.

DI-604 url 192.168.0.1 will not take me to the setup for the rout

Sounds like they both are getting the same IP address. Remove the x-box and see if you can log into the router. You may have to power cycle it. Once on, log into the router and make sure that DHCP is configured. Then attach the x-box and it should get a seperate IP address

Your internet connection should be setup properly in order for the router to give connectivity to both your computer.

You must contact your ISP and ask them for the IP's and put it in the router.

D Link 604 will not connect to internet

Hi Goldy,

The 604 should setup easily. Make sure you have it set to automatically get IP if you are using Cable, and for PPPOE if you are using DSL.
Once you have it setup. Shut down everything. Plug in the modem, wait 2 min. This allows the modem to get the info it needs from your ISP. Then bootup the 604. Wait 2 min, for it to get the info it needs from the modem, then boot up your computers.
Got to start>run and type in CMD. In the black box that opens, type in IPCONFIG. Your IP listed should be 192.168.x.x. THe X's can be any number from 1 to 253. If the IP is 169.xxx.x.x, you are not getting data from the 604. Check your firewalls, expecially if you are using a third party one, like Norton.

Good luck!
