This is as simple as it gets. If the carb is 10 years old and has not

been rebuilt in the past 2 or 3 years it will need to be rebuilt or

replaced. The average life of the diaphragms is about 2 to 3 years,

If your carb has limiters which will only allow the adjustment

screws to turn about 1/2 turn, you will likely not get any relief from

adjusting the carb. You will have to take the unit to a local dealer

for help. Most likely you will need to replace or rebuild the carb.
The problem is that you most likely will not have a Homelite dealer

in your area. If you can not find help in your area try Southern

Supply Co. Their number is 205-833-2525 and they have anything

you will need for Homelite products and they will ship anywhere.

Ask for Jason. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: blower wont run at full throttle

Start with the spark plug it is the easiest.

But sounds like the carbourator is dirty, Probably fouled with old gas varnish. When it is idling give it a little throttle, flip the choke on and then full throttle. If it goes full throttle and doesn't conk out, it is a fuel issue.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Leaf blower does not respond when increasing throttle and engines

Unit is either having trouble picking up enough fuel or muffler is plugged. First disassemble the muffler and check that the flame arrestor screen is not clogged. Clean as needed. Cost, $0. Check fuel pickup line from fuel tank to carbureator for cracks. Replace if brittle or cracked. Next would be to check the diaphram in the carbureator. Even a small hole or crack can cause this problem.

Cuts out when I increase the throttle

Blocked fuel injector in the carb, usually gunk in bottom of tank gets pulled through into carb so idle jet is ok but when you give it the beans the main injector is blocked and the idle jet isn\'t enough to produce increased power demand, ends up just sucking in air only.

also timing, leads, coil. check plug too. Red.

Engine rpm's increase without increaseing throttle,on start up. Not consistent. Goes back to normal quickly before driving. Happens ocasionally during driving. Fuel economy not affected.

if its petrol the throttle body may be in need of a clean and resetting or it may have a small air leak if its a diesel its worth checking the fuel filter they can get contaminated with oil if you find this the injector seals will also need replacing and the fuel tank and pipes cleaned out

Wont start

I believe your carburetor needs to be rebuilt. The carb has very thin rubber diaphragms that meter in the fuel when throttle is increased. If diaphragms are hard, it won't allow enough fuel to satisfy the increased demand. The kit is fairly easy to install. If you need parts, email desertairrepair@aol.com.

It starts but will not fully throttle even with the throttle pressed all the way down

you have two screws and the side of the carb. these twy screws adjust the high and low gas flow. at full throttle you can turn the (H) screw counter clockwise to increase the speed 1/8 turn at a time if there is no change you will have to rebuild the carb
