Gas wont lite

I would check the limits and igntor along with the flame sensor. If all of that seemed fine but the ignition was intermittent I would change the solenoid coils. Most all gas dryers work the same. A control thermostat is on the blower housing along with a fuse and these send power over to the ignition system for heat whenever the temp is cold inside the dryer. I recently did a video on a gas dryer i worked on with an intermittent problem:

Our whirlpool gas dryer burner only lights one in four or five starts. The igniter always glows but the gas is not always started. Once started the burner stops after 10 or 12 minutes. What should I do?

Call the fire department. That puppy is gonna explode!
Seriously the average time a flame stays on is 25 seconds. 12 minutes would cause a Chernobyl type meltdown. If the burner is lighting intermitantly that is the coils7329710.jpg, feel the coils, the one that is hot is the intermitant one. This 4 wire t-stat could be wank, many have fallen in the past.38bdb0e.jpg

Asko TD 70 intermitent squeaking replaced belt and brushes about 2 yrs ago maybe a loose roler or replacement or lubrication?

For intermittent squeaking-

You have to remove the back of the dryer and expose the motor and drive assemblies.

Check the drive belt idler pulley
Check for any strange sounds coming from the motor
Check the drum support rollers - they support the dryer drum, usually in 3 places. They can sometimes be lubricated, but generally don't last that long because there is usually roller shaft damage by then, requiring replacement.

My estate gas dryer has intermitent heat. sometimes its hot the next cycle is cool.I cleaned the vent out thourghly.every thing else looks good.what should i check.thanks

Hello. I can help you. Your igniter is on its last legs.

Modern gas dryers use an electric igniter to ignite the gas from the gas valve. When it's working properly, the igniter glows bright orange. When it burns out, the dryer tumbles but there's no heat because the gas can't ignite. When the igniter burns out, you need to replace it. If the igniter is held by a tension bracket, you very well may need to replace the bracket too.

The igniter is inside the dryer housing, near the bottom front, usually in a cone-shaped metal tube (the force cone). It's about 2 inches long. It's mounted to the far end of the burner tube, and it has two wires attached to it--or to the tension bracket, if there is one.

No heat to a gas dryer

Sounds like the problem is the solenoid coils on your gas valve. easy to replace and inexpensive + common. their are 2 coils on the valve that have 2 wires each going to them. Let me know if you have any other questions,

suspect root of problem is the motor capacitor bearing in mind that motor also drives fan. capacitor usually mounted on the motor. find the value (printed on the capacitor and you shoulod be able to source from a good spares stockist
