Hi

As you have not provided with the brand and model no#, generally this happens when the set has failed in either the high voltage section or the deflection amplifiers. These are the most common because they draw the most power. It could be other failures as well. Please look very close, when the set shuts down there will be a pattern to the blinks let me know. Also tell me the brand and model no# with the blink patterns so that I can assist you further.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

    Hi

Thanks for using FixYa and providing the model number. It seems that the power supply board might have gone bad. Also check any swollen capacitors on power supply board and make sure that the cooling fan is working fine. Please check and replace the power supply board or swollen capacitors. These parts will cost around $200-300 from the JVC. If you have the basic knowledge of TV and can replace it then go ahead otherwise it is recommended that this replacement should be done by a qualified service technician.

Turn tv on. green light solid display, no picture or sound

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
