This should be a simple key stroke that you would press when you first power up the PC. Turn it on, and you should get some sort of screen saying ASUS, or something. when you see that you should be able to press a key... like F2, F10, F12, Delete.. to enter the BIOS. Look on the screen upon turning it on, you should see something that tells you what to press to enter BIOS, or Setup. Press that key continuously, like 5 to 10 times.. then stop and you should enter BIOS.

It's simple, but I don't know the exact key for ASUS PC's....

Hope this helps...

You have to make a bootable stick with the desired operating system, or must have an external dvd rom and the operating system boottable disk. Make sure BIOS is set to boot from removable devices (press F2 when booting, modify: boot -> boot device -> boot device priority so you boot removable devices first, save the new BIOS settings).

For bootable stick click here

Hello
The answer is YES. You can load Win-7 from an external DVD player, after making it as first boot device. You must have get DVD as first boot devce and the internal hard disc to second boot device. Click out all boot devices to none, by entering into the bios window. You can get the bios settings, by press and hold the "Delete" key of your computer, as it first try to load. OK.

No sound after installing sound system

Hello and welcome to fixya.

It seems that you are just missing the correct drivers for the specific on-board audio devices of the ASUS eeePC 1000H.

ALL Windows XP drivers can be found here and Windows7 (32bit - BIOS ONLY+ Manual) here.

Depending on your OS, please install the appropriate drivers.

Thanks.

I want to restore my EEE PC 1000H bios to its factory setting

Update the firmware on the BIOS and it should wipe all settings. Be careful with this though...it could screw up your laptop and cause it to not be able to boot...

I just bought this eee pc and it not set up like my friend and i like to set it up with win xp

well, you will need a windows XP cd and a valid product code. you will also need either a USB cd rom, or one of those ide to usb kits sold on ebay (make sure it comes with the molex power adapter), and a standard IDE cdrom drive. connect the usb drive to the eee pc and insert the xp disc, restart and boot to the xp disc and install xp that way.
