It is unlikely that you deleted or removed or otherwise affected another account when creating a new account.
Verify the account name:

  1. Log in.
  2. click "Start">"Control Panel"
  3. double click "User Accounts"
  4. All accounts present on the machine, except the administrator account, will be shown in the lower section.
  5. If the account is listed, log off and log in with that account's credentials.
  6. If the account is not listed, it is possible that the account in question is the administrator account. Log off and log back in as "administrator".
If neither of these approaches bring you to a solution, verify that the account and it's files exist on the drive by:
  1. Click "Start">"Run"
  2. enter explorer "c:\documents and settings" and press return.
  3. All accounts, including the adminstrator account, will be listed.
This should give you access to the missing files and perhaps provide a clue as to the account name.

My computer was blocked by a virus I need to recover my password to reinstall windows

You'll need to get a password wiping cd that boots prior to windows. Hiren's has a free product to do just that. It boots into it's own OS and allows you to blank out the password for your account, or any other users account: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ You'll have to log into another machine to burn the program though.

I also recommend booting into safe mode with networking (hit F8 BEFORE seeing the Windows logo on startup) and running Malwarebytes and Combofix (you can google them both).

There is a password on a computer it has xp how do i get by it so i can change the password

Is it your Own Computer? If yes then follow this steps but remember this steps only works of there is a password in User account but not in Administrator account.
Turn on the Computer, the place where it will ask the password there you Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE all together two times, you shuld press those key very fast, i mean once if you press those key then there shold not be time gape when you press next time.
After doing that successfully then it'll show you a small window where it'll ask you user name and password, in place of user name just type Administrator and leave the password place blank and hit the enter. if there is no pass word in your administrator account then it should open up and you can go to control panel--user accounts--chose the user account which has the password and select remove password. Restart the computer and this time it'll not ask you for password.

IF there is a password in Administrator account then you need to find some password removing tools.

When you installed XP, did you put in a password? If so, use Administrator as the username and the password as the password. You will log in as an Administrator and then you can create your own user account from there.

I'm trrying to turn on the sound on this pc. But it won't let me get into the control panel without an administative passcode. What do I do?

Hi,

I'm assuming this is your home pc. If you have setup an account on the pc as a "user", then this will not allow you to install apps or enable/disable devices on the PC.

Log in to the pc with the administrator account or the main account that was created and then try again

Hope that helps

Windows xp

depends which password, if you mean the log on password, you have to keep pressing F8 on boot up and get you into start windows with safe mode option. when in click on the administrator account, then go to users, go to your normal account and either delete or change password, then restart pc If you mean administrator account when trying to alter windows set up or you cannot get into an administrator account you will have to reinstall windows from scratch to set up the registry again and allow administrative rights. If you mean the bios pasword you have to remove the cmos battery and clear the cmos itself from which has to be done on the motherboard shorting terminals.
