Question about E-Machines Emachine T5026 power supply ** FREE SHIPPNG ** (EM12EB324PIN) Power Supply

1 Answer

Same as! I have the exact same problem with an emachines pc. As soon as the windows loading screen comes up the power shuts off. And just like yours, linux works. I have disabled all on board peripherals like usb controller, LAN, audio, and even added a graphic card, but still the same. Even a windows preinstallation environment cd does the same.

If you are saying that your computer works fine when using LINUX, but the same machine goes bonkers when you boot up with Windows, you have a virus or somethng going on there. A power supply isn't going to work for one OS and suddenly **** out because of another OS in use. You have a software problem. Hopefully you can get what data you want to save and then when doing an install do a hard format of the entire hard drive, you might want to even use something like Killdisk to completely over right the disk and then install windows.

How to restore emachine?

Power up your computer.
Right at the beginning of the power-up process for just a short while, an "emachine" screen appears plus a choice of using some function keys. As soon as this screen appears (you have to be fast and ready as the time window is very small) press [Alt] + F10 (hold down the Alt key and keep pressing and releasing the F10 key) continuously until a screen comes up giving you the choice to factory restore. Just take the option to restore the operating system.
This process wipes all data from the disk, so you will loose any of your files that might be on the hard disk. It is like a full reinstall and can take about an hour. The machine will shut down and restart several times by itself.

When i turn my computer on it shuts off immediately and the blue light on the power button flashes until i unplug from the wall. i have emachines t 6522

Looks ugly. I'm not a tech person, but this is certainly no software problem because there's no time for the BIOS to load. (The BIOS is a little program that is run as soon as you turn your PC on and checks that everything is OK before loading the operative system, i.e Windows, Linux, etc)
Hmm... might be an electrical problem. How "immediately" does it turn off? Can you see any words on the screen? It could be many things, like a bad mother board or hard drive. If you can't see any words on the screen, *********** board might be burnt.

Replaced Mainboard on Emachine w3653, keeps restarting

If it reboots before you make the Windows load screen, chances are it's the power supply. You can go into the BIOS, look at the power setup and with most BIOS's you can watch the DC supplies. If they vary like mad while you're doing this (with the PC effectively in idle), either something is loading down the power supply or it's defective.

If it gets to the Windows startup screen and starts to load, then reboots, it's probably a defective RAM chip.

Wont load passed windows xp screen

Try holding down the "F-8" key when the emachines logo appears, see if you get a prompt for "safe mode". If you can get the system up and running in safe mode, shut it back down from the start menu. That should rewrite the boot sector and may clear the problem.

Emachines 2792

pull the power plug as soon as the emacines logo comes on
and if that doesn't work pull out the power as soon as the first windows logo screen comes on. it should then come on and give you the option to start in safe mode or regular mode, choose safe mode then after it comes on in safe mode restart the cpu
then it should come on in regular mode i don't know why it works for my emachines cpu but it does . i'm looking at downloading a error fixing program because i'm doing this almost when ever i turn off my cpu hope this helps if not reformat your hard drive andput windows on again it worked last time i had this problem.

problems like this is associated to RAM malfunctioning.

1.your RAM might not be sitting properly on the RAM slot, you will need to resit the RAM by opening the system unit and remove the Ram and resit it firmly.

2.if step one prove abortive, check the RAM for compatibility and the RAM health of such Ram.if it continue,

3.consider replacing the RAM with a known good one
