Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Carrier Comfort Zone II Smart Control in one zone frequently cycles unit (every 20-30 minutes) even when temperature in the room does not change significantly and the indicated thermostat temperature does not change at all (stays on 77 for example). Shouldn't the thermostat temperature change at least a degree or two in order for it to turn the unit on or off?? Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of these controls?

Sounds like your zone control tstat needs calabrated or maybe replaced,in owners manual there should be a section on calibration if not you may have to replace it

Why does a CCC2 thermostat continually kick on and off even though the set temperature has been reached?

Double check your batteries in both the outside and inside units changing the outside ones FIRST before you change to reset the inside batteries, IF you have two separate units. If this doesn't help, it could be the control switch/relay for your interior unit. Please go to your browsers information line and type in DOMETIC CORPORATION.COM AND SEARCH FOR YOUR SPECIFIC THERMOSTAT by entering your CCC2 Comfort Control Center 2 information. They should have a help section at this website.
I hope this helps. Check to see if its still under warranty.

Hi. I have the Comfort zone 1500 (cz 1500) and just ran into this AO5 problem. Turns out the thermostat was set lower than the actual room temperature. I just turned up the heater temp and it kicked right on. Hope this helps!

Our Carrier Comfort Zone II thermostat, which has 2 zone readouts, currently shows a temperature of 00, as in zero zero, on one zone. That is the main zone for our home. Zone 2, for spare bedrooms, etc....

This .pdf file may be of help to you:

Perhaps you could get some help from Carrier Support here:
http://www.residential.carrier.com/support/index.shtml
I noticed they have an option of talking to an engineer, and perhaps they could explain how to reset or set the unit.
Hope this helps.

We have the same problem, was hit with lightning and came up E1

You didn't get a Carrier tech. Carrier technicians only work on commercial equipment. Residential applicaitions, installation and service of Carrier residential units are done by dealers. They are not carrier owned but get buy the product at discount get training and get to show our logo. You can't fix the boards, they have to be replaced. It sounds like you have a Gen II VVT system. You can get the part via Totaline stores or a distributor. You will need to know how to readdress the other controllers to operate correctly. Use WWW.Carrier.com.
