I would like to export my outlook contacts to excell how can I do this ?

  • mike856 Sep 09, 2009

Thank you, I am trying to export the whole contact list found in tools to excell, the route you showed me only takes the list from the navigation pane and what has gone across does not include e mail adresses. I am trying to do this so as to tidy the email adresses in excell so as to only include guests of this hotel and then send them emails as a group

SOURCE: there is no option for

Sometimes the menu does not fully show, you can click it again or see if there is a drop down arrow.

There certainly should be inport / export in the file menu.

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. On the File menu, click Import And Export. If the command is not available, rest the pointer over the chevrons at the bottom of the menu, and then click Import and Export.
  3. Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.
  4. Click Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.
  5. Type the path and the name of the .pst file that you want to import, and then click Next.
  6. Select the folder that you want to import. To import everything in the .pst file, select the top of the hierarchy.
  7. Click Finish.

Restoring .pst files in outlook

The simple way to restore .pst files in outlook is

Choose File-> Import and Export…
Choose Export to a file
Choose Personal Folder File (.pst)
Select the Inbox and press Next (we do the Contacts folder later)
Set the file location to D:\My Documents\My Outlook\Backup\export.pst
Press Finish and you’ll be prompted to set properties for the export.pst file
In the Name field type a descriptive name like "Export June 2004" (yeah, I wrote this guide a long time ago but don’t worry; I still keep it up to date!)
Press OK to start the export
To export the Contacts folder as well repeat step 1 to 4 and this time select the Contacts folder
If the save location is not set to the path you’ve set in step 5 browse to it
Press Finish to export the Contact folder
Close Outlook and copy the exported file to your safe location as described in Backup pst-file
