You appear to have a K Mech model. F04 means the mechanism locks unloading. The cause of this is the Load Motor timing.

Sorry the only way to stop it reading F04 is to cure the Loading Motor problem. It should return to normal then.

Australian versions of this model use the Z-mech deck, and the loading motor is on top of this, along with the master cam gear.

There are many causes of this code, but the main one is mechanical. It is either the loading motor, or capstan motor which have failed.

The only way to fix this is to have the machine mechanically serviced and the relevant motor(s) replaced as required, along with their respective servo supply circuits examined for leaky components.

I have a Panasonic NV-VP60GL, it has repeatedly come up with error code f04. From what I've been advised this is to do with the loading motor. I replaced said motor and still get problem. Help please?

F04 actually just means the mechanism locks during unload. The load motor can indeed cause this, but it can be working fine, but the timing might be out. This could be something to do with the mechanical parts of the mechanism. You should examine it for broken or worn plastic parts.

I think that code might mean that the mechanism is getting stuck as it tries to unload the tape. Look around for signs of damage and examine the Loading Motor.

You have a Pansonic K-Deck if you search on the web you will find information on it. But F04 means the mechanism is locking up unloading. This being caused by the load motor timing.

Error F04

You have a K Mech model. F04 is the code for "Mech locks during unloading". The cause of this is the Load Motor Timing.
You can get service information for the K-Mech from service manual site ESI. It was free when I download it last. Also it gives instructions on how to get trapped tapes out!
Any problems getting hold of it let me know.

Panasonic NV HD620 Error F06

You appear to have a model that uses the K Deck Chassis.
F06 in that case stands for: "Mechanism locks after unload". The cause being either the loading motor or the carriage alignment.
