The imaging drum is a consumable on these machines and there is a count down of pages printed until the drum should be replaced. The 'Replace Drum soon' message is just a warning to allow you time to purchase a drum, however dont replace it until the message reads 'Replace drum now' and then reset the reset

Continue to get a message to change drum soon. Changed drum already. Print quality is still not good.

hi

This message would continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum counter, follow the instructions listed below.

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the Options key on the control panel.
The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
  3. Press 1 to reset the drum count.
  4. Close the front cover.

Drum error

Does it say only "drum error", or "dust on drum error" etc?

First try cleaning, this is the easiest and cheapest way.

If this does not help, your drum might be damaged and you need to change it.

When replacing the drum, you might also need to reset the drum counter.

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the Options key on the control panel.
    The display
    will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
  3. Press 1 to reset the drum count.
  4. Close the front cover.
