If there are lights and fan action to start with, but no screen to see, try changing or just reseating the RAM. If that fails, attach an exteral monitor to the laptop, and press the keys to switch the display to that (if required). Usually the 'Fn' (function) key plus one of the top-row buttons (it's 'f4' on this laptop). This alternates between laptop display; both displays or external display. This will check if your display is faulty - if so, would usually be backlighting failure. Replace the laptop LCD screen if so.
