Question about Atari 2600 Console
Wow. The pic shows a rather ancient console. Is this what you're working with? :D
OK, if this is the '80's model Atari, this has been around a very long time and probably has seen it's better days being knocked around, slammed to the floor, exposed to dust/moisture/extreme temperature fluctuations in the attic, so it's likely that the ICB (integrated circuit board) is damaged to some extent. My vote is on that.
However, if you're intent on having a go at playing this pile of historic... erm... technology, break out the can of compressed air (bought at computer stores) or an air compressor and spray out the game card socket, the cards themselves at the connectors and, since this is an analogue console, the switches and buttons as well.
Also make sure your connection to the tv is solid and that you're on the right channel selected on the back of your console.
