Too sad news for a photographers but dont worry. As per your info i guess when it was dropped that time its come down and touch lense 1st. thats why the allientmant of focus are damaged. Just visit in a service center they will fix it. But its take some time remember. Dont worry about your lence till its ok just focus gear damaged. Maximum 40 - 60 $ you need to pay the service center.
hi the problem is going to be with the lense motor jaming and not letting the lense come out all the way to switch the camera on to take pictures what should happen is the lense should come out all the way the go in just a little bit so that it focuses it does this so that it resets the lense for when the screen comes on. If the camera has been put down with the lense out and any pressure has been put on it and put the lense out of line then this will cause the problem your having. But the even bigger problem is their is no way of repairing it as most shops dont repair the smaller digital cameras so the chances of getting someone to look at it is a bit remote. The only thing you could try is when the lense comes out try and pull it gently a bit further and see if that lines it back up as their a sensor on it so that when the lense comes out it switches the camera into the mode to take pictures but you can acess the pictures with the lense in so you know the batterys fine and that the circuit board is also fine. It just the lense i know you cant get replacement parts for your make and model the only spares you can get is batt and cards so gently pull the lense if you can you cant damage it anymore than it is anyway can you. Let me know how you get on ok.
Sadly I would deem that this camera has been dropped and thus an expensive repair. Failure to being dropped ( most people deny this) try turning camera off and hitting the face of the camera like a slap into open palm several timjes. This will release any dirt or jamb that may have caused the lens to stick. if after 20 or so of these slaps then you have no oprion but to discard it or send it for expensive repair. repair lanbour is about 90 anj hour plus parts. add it up as 2 hrs =minimum and maybe parts to the cost of a new one with warranty
If the camera was on when it was dropped you probably jamed the lense coil. The lense coil is what helps the camera smoothly pull in the lense and back out. Now, just to specify, what exactly are you having a problem with? Will the actual lense not go back into the camera when you turn it off; or can you not get your camera off zoom?
Let me know~
camera is not a cheap article to handle so easily. having invested much into it dont think twice to cost it for repair. even tough repair cost is high, its not high compared to camera cost. so while dealing with internal hardware dont risk it with doing it by yourself. take it to service center and fix it.
Turn on your camera, when the lense is opened, hold it till the blue screen appears, extend the lense to his maximum forcing it a little bit then when you turn off your camera, the noise won't be here. Turn on again your camera and hopes it works. I tried it on my camera, works well at the first try then again the error, i did it twice holding the lense when you turn it on, then it worked perfectly. Hope it works for you. P.S : my english isn't well but i hope it helps.
basically a bubble blower has a thick concentrated solution of soap. if any amount of this solution happens to enter even the lense assembly and you have given enough time to dry it up , it must be creating a friction in the movement of the lense assy. this will not allow the camera to switch on and will make noise.
With your description of the problem it seams to me that your camera doesn't have enought energy to continuo working properly. The view pictures mode always takes less energy to work while the shooting mode... a lot because it has to load several things on the camera, including the access to the card.
My advice is for you to try with different batteries but with a lot of mAh. The recharchable batteries have those numbers that, in a small definition, the higher the value more pictures you can take. Try to get 2 x AA batteries with at least 2100 mAh and try the turn on your camera. I think it will solve the situation.
