Question about Garmin nuvi 750 GPS Receiver
Can't add a lot because i left it in my friends car, and when i got it back it won't do anything. i know it was working no more than 48 hours prior. it does not have a smell, like the board on the inside could have been overcharged or something. although i did notice that the sticker with the serial numbers and info were missing, which left the screws completely visible. so they might have opened it up for some reason, but i honestly can't say whether they did or not. i just know the sticker is missing so now even if i wanted to turn it into the manufacturer, i can't cause it doesn't have the information on it and they probably messed up my warranty by opening it up. anyways any ideas to help me get it working again are greatly appreciated. i am lost without it, i LOVED IT!!!!!!
Plug it in to the wall charger or car charger for about 4 hours, then slide and hold power button for up to 15 seconds till it starts.
if that fails, unplug the nuvi then press and hold the lower right hand corner of the screen until you see the message " Do you really want to erase all user data?" remove your finger from the screen and select YES. (this will erase all your saved data) this should reset your nuvi to the factory settings.
use the web updater to update your nuvi once you get it started again.
you can get it HERE
let me know if you need further help.

I have the Nuvi 755t
the problem is a bug in the software updates. to get mine to power on again,***be very careful*** all i did was pop the back plate off. there is 2 screws. some people say #5 #6 or #7, to be honest, find one that fits yours. once that is done. the back plating is just snapped it. now, the tricky part is to uncover it without harming the wires that are connected(speaker and battery). once the back plate is off and you see the inside, take twezzers and pull the battery wire so it becomes disconnected. count to 30. then place and push gently the wire back in. snap the cover back on fully. carefully screw the 2 screws in. PRESTO!
anyhow, this worked for me. however if there is any sign of trying to open the unit, the unit becomes void of warranty. if you can do it precisely, without making and marks or nicks while trying to get inside the unit, then your ahead of the game. if something else should happen again.
